Okay, after a couple of final things in the High Republic line we now arrive at the actual true finale, and given it’s just a single comic issue this is going to be a rather short review… Still, it wraps up a few things and gives us a nice warm send off to something that I’ve absolutely loved the past few years and am genuinely sad to see it go (but also happy it got all the way to its planned ending, and a good one too!) So let’s take a look!
The issue kicks off with Keeve Trennis coming to terms with the Nihil’s surrender above Eriadu and news that the war might well be over. Unlike the rest of her celebrating crew she thinks back to some of the death she’s had to witness even just in this battle alone and feels uncomfortable about the joy around her. She heads back to Coruscant and has a happy reunion with Terec and Ceret but they have the unfortunate duty to inform her of Avar and Elzar’s sacrifice to bring peace back to the galaxy. As we then start to see some wrap ups, like Lourna Dee creating a “Beacon” on Dalna to help resurrect the planet after the chaos she had a hand in causing and a big banquet where we can see a whole bunch of characters from across the Era all eating and being merry Keeve is offered one of Avar and Elzar’s seats on the Jedi Council by Yoda, but she is unsure about taking on such a role when she has begun to lose faith in the Jedi themselves…

Reunited and it feels… well, so good, until the next page or so…
As an epilogue it does a good job of giving us a few “what they did next” scenes and the big party was nice to see as not a lot of Jedi have had a reason to be merry recently, and the focus on Keeve and the decision those who paid attention to expanded media before even the first High Republic story came out already knew what it was, was good. The art, as always, was good too.
Overall Thoughts:

This was actually an alternate cover, but it’s nice so I’ve used it here instead of an actual panel. *shrugs*
“Finale” was a perfectly fine coda to the High Republic as a whole, plus a good wrap up to Keeve and Sskeer specifically. As a one chapter epilogue it does its job, even if it doesn’t lend itself to a long review!

Not much to say here other than Keeve turns down Yoda’s offer and in fact decides to leave the Jedi Order entirely, citing their growing move towards violence and politics instead of the ideals she believed in being the reason (and as time would prove, a very good reason!) Sskeer is initially upset until he gets himself a permanent position on the Jedi Outpost on the same planet as his old Padawan, meaning they can be together still, even if they’re not in the same Order. A rather lovely way to cap off the series.
