Frankly I don’t know what I was expecting but I should’ve guessed that it wouldn’t be particularly uplifting given all that’s happened leading up to it, but even given that the final montage… wow. Plus did Eren actually stay a villain? Has a protagonist really become an antagonist? All this and more in this final movie-length final special…

Bloody hell, “The Final Season: The Final Chapters Part 1”? Really? Well, agonisingly slow release schedule aside we’ve reached the final chunk of the Final Season that’s not actually the finale, so next time we can actually put this series to bed. This one hour special was very good though, I think if you end up watching the series after its finished you’ll probably think very highly of the Final Season, not realising it was so slowly rolled out. So let’s take a look at the penultimate part of the Attack on Titan story, shall we?

Attack on Titan’s final sea- … oh, right, the second half of Attack on Titan’s final sea- … Oh, okay then. The second third of the Attack on Titan’s final season was full of fun plot twists and really delved deep into the lore of the series, so much so that despite me poking fun at the “Final Season” now being three seasons long I’m happy they didn’t have to rush anything. So after a delay of a month or so let’s finally get a review up!

So Attack on Titan comes to an end… next year, but here is the first half of the finale! Yes, the modern classic is on its last legs, and while I was debating covering this on the blog due to not having covered the previous three seasons for one reason or another, the fact that this won’t be the only thing on this site that has the last few chunks of episodes reviewed but not the first (though I will get to them eventually!) made me think “why not?”. So how was it? Very weird, is how it was. The end of the previous season pretty much wrapped up the whole “last of humanity cowering behind walls from Titans” story and now we’re suddenly in a world war scenario. Let’s have a look…
