Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba The Movie – Infinity Castle Anime UK News Review

Another one of those rare “cinema screener” reviews from myself (plus a review from a co-writer who actually went to a physical screening!) this time for the latest, insanely high-Japanese-box-office offering from the Demon Slayer franchise. It can be viewed by clicking HERE.

Basically, it’s more of the same, which given its the (first third of the) final arc makes sense!

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Hashira Training Arc Review

Time to cover more Spring 2024 anime with the latest Demon Slayer season, though if you thought my review of the previous one was a bit harsh, just you wait! Yes, sadly the Hashira Training Arc was just a small handful of chapters in the manga to prepare for the finale but Ufotable decided to take those couple of chapters the stretch them out for nearly 10 hours before announcing a trilogy of films to cap the series off. So in order to make the most money they couldn’t actually start the final arc at all, so it’s no wonder this “season” was so poorly padded! Oh well, let’s take a look…

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Swordsmith Village Arc Review

Ufotable are back for another chunk of Demon Slayer adaptation, but I have to say that this time round I wasn’t as invested. Don’t get me wrong, the animation is still often jaw-dropping but the plot felt so samey to what’s come before that I honestly found myself less and less interested as it went along. How less interested? Let’s take a look!

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Entertainment District Arc Review

An extra anime review this week, due to its current relevance and me not wanting to delay the last little bit of Dragon Ball on Friday. Demon Slayer’s Ufotable-animated run gets back to a more normal TV series approach with the next arc after Mugen Train, dubbed the Entertainment District Arc. While I’m glad the series didn’t vanish into just movies I will say that looking at this arc it also would’ve worked as a film because the arc is eleven episodes long and the big fight starts four episodes in, ending with the last moments of episode 10, so there isn’t a lot of standing around and talking about plot, that’s for sure! Let’s take a look…

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba The Movie – Mugen Train Review

Demon Slayer was the big hit a two years ago, with gorgeous Ufotable animation and a decent Shonen story to boot but I don’t think anyone could have predicted this film’s success! Collecting accolades like the biggest Japanese box office success EVER and the very top film of 2020 worldwide (okay, that one isn’t as impressive given the whole pandemic thing, but still!) is this film THAT good? Well, no, I’m sure what could be, but I will say that it is a good watch, being an adaptation of a manga arc rather than a spin-off like other Shonen films adds to it, certainly. Let’s take a closer look!

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Episodes 14 – 26 Review

The second half of Demon Slayer is far more traditional in that its one story arc, and then some “characters get stronger through training before the next story” episodes. It also has Episode 19, which may go down as one of the best animated and most satisfying moments in recent anime memory, and the next story in question has become the highest grossing anime movie ever, so… Yeah. Let’s take a look!

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Episodes 1 – 13 Review

This feels a couple of years too late, but as Demon Slayer was put up on Netflix I felt like giving it a rewatch and finally putting a review of it up here on my blog, after it fell to the “too busy” wayside in 2019. Obviously to say this series has seen an increase in popularity since it aired would be a massive understatement, but how does the first half of what is now the first series hold up when you cut past all the hype? Let’s take a look!
