The Matrix Resurrections Review

So I finally go around to watching the fourth Matrix film after hearing mostly negative things, and you know what? This time… they’re pretty spot on, sadly. Seemingly pointing the finger at and insulting people who like the original films, really bad fight choreography and just flat and dull direction and often acting, this film has “we didn’t want to make it” written all over it, in one scene literally! Oh well, were there any highlights at all? Let’s see…

The Matrix Revolutions Review

The Matrix trilogy (which is an incorrect term as of today in cinemas!) comes to a close with what is undeniably a bit of a let-down. While I’ll admit watching it for this review I actually liked it more than I remembered it’s still full of flaws that just weren’t present in the previous two entries. Still, with a fourth film now out, how does the old final film in the series stand up? Let’s find out!

The Matrix Reloaded Review

The Matrix Reloaded is often considered to be a poor sequel, and while that may be the case (the original is a hard act to follow) is it still a bad film by itself? When it came out in the cinema I didn’t think so, I thought it was frankly “awesome”, and while my opinion has changed from my 18-year-old self in the subsequent re-watches I still think it holds up as a fun two-ish hours. The Matrix Review

“No one can be told what the Matrix is, they have to see it for themselves” was the trailer tag line that got me and my friends excited to see this film in the cinema, and against all odds it lived up to the hype and then some. With a fourth film only a few weeks away I thought it would be the ideal time to take a look at the original trilogy. Ground-breaking would be an understatement but what’s the film like to watch now in 2021, when the subsequent films were less well received, and the franchise’s innovations are now commonplace?
