Mobile Suit Gundam 00 – Season 2 Episodes 14 – 25 Review

You can read my review of the first half of Season 2 by clicking HERE.

Gundam 00 reaches its TV series conclusion with a string of pretty crazy episodes, both plot-wise and action set pieces-wise. While there are some definite highlights and the final confrontations at the end are very satisfying it is hard not to once again look back at the more varied and interesting world of Season 1 instead of the more straight forward good vs. evil plot featured here, but that’s still not to say this season doesn’t have some great moments, just that I do now understand when people say that Season 1 was better, where as before it all sort of blended together in my mind due it being so long since I watched them. Anyway, let’s take a look at the end of 00! The series. The actual end comes after this…

Jujutsu Kaisen – Shibuya Incident Arc (Episodes 30 – 47) Review

As some may have gathered by a lot of the anime I review on this site, I like a good action Shonen show, dramatic bloody fights of good versus evil often (but not always) based around the idea of overcoming the odds through will power and the want to do good. Classic popcorn entertainment. What Jujutsu Kaisen’s Shibuya Incident Arc has shown me though is you can indeed have too much of a good thing, because by the end of it I was actually kind of fed up of large-scale and well animated fight scenes and for the first time I can remember I was “wondering where the plot was”, which is not something that normally bothers me when watching a show like this (see: my love of the Dragon Ball franchise). Well, with that initial thought out of the way, let’s take a deeper look!

Mobile Suit Gundam 00 – Season 2 Episodes 1 – 13 Review

Gundam 00 kicks off its second season with some fun revelations and scene-setting but also one of the worst cases of backtracking I’ve seen in any media that even though I knew it was coming it still made me shake my head. Thankfully once you get past that bit the series is once again really fun, with great character and mech designs, though the enemies are a bit more clear-cut this time, making for less political intrigue. Let’s take a look!

Mobile Suit Gundam 00 – Season 1 Episodes 14 – 25 Review

For a look at the first half of Season 1 (including a lore breakdown!) click HERE.

Gundam 00’s first season comes to a close with another great set of episodes, full of action and drama on and off the battlefield, just how we like it. Even the very Seed-like sudden introduction of three new Gundams is handled better, although by the end of the season I’m not convinced they still weren’t inserted purely for more sweet Gunpla money, but hey-ho. It also has a hell of an emotional plot twist that sadly retrospectively loses some of its lustre, but not as much as I thought it would this time round. So let’s look at the end of what was technically the first ever Gundam season, since all the other series just ran straight through…

Attack on Titan: The Final Chapters – Part 2 Review

Okay, now it’s actually time to talk about the end of Attack on Titan, the final finale! Frankly I don’t know what I was expecting but I should’ve guessed that it wouldn’t be particularly uplifting given all that’s happened leading up to it, but even given that the final montage… wow. Plus did Eren actually stay a villain? Has a protagonist really become an antagonist? All this and more in this final movie-length final special…

Mobile Suit Gundam 00 – Season 1 Episodes 1 – 13 Review

When I started this run-down of the Gundam series I was looking forward to two things in particular: watching all the UC series in order for the first time (and Victory for the first time in general) and finally getting round to re-watching Gundam 00, and it’s time to finally check the second one off the list. I have very fond memories of this show, though I’m interested if its because this was the first Gundam show I watched weekly as it aired and discussed each episode online with other fans or whether the show really is as good as I remember. Judging by the first thirteen episodes though I have a feeling it really is that good, especially the character and mech / mobile suit designs and world building. So, let’s take a look!

Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War Arc (Episodes 14 – 26) Review

The anime adaptation of Bleach’s final manga arc (I guess that’s still technically accurate…) continued with 13 more episodes of the Thousand Year Blood War arc, not only adapting the manga faithfully but adding brand new scenes created by Tite Kubo himself to plug some plot holes and make sure to add more shine to the Royal Guard for good measure. The only issue is that this is where the arc in the manga took a dramatic down turn that it never corrected out of, instead just offering up some fun fights here and there, and while the new material helps it a bit, a lot of the narrative mistakes are still present here. Want to know more? Read on!

Dragon Ball – Wedding Dress Filler Arc (Episodes 149 – 153) Review

The original Dragon Ball series comes to a close with these five filler episodes, and while most of the time its perfectly normal to shudder at the phrase “Filler Arc” this one is actually quite entertaining. I mean I still don’t think it really adds anything beyond seeing Goku and Chi Chi’s wedding at the end (Spoilers? Though it’s sort of in the title of the arc… and my thumbnail…) but if you’re going to artificially add more episodes then this was at least fun and told a mini-story rather than random singular episodes or a really obnoxiously long arc. So let’s take a look and finally close the book on the original DB series!
