Turn-A Gundam Overall Series Review

Turn-A Gundam has been called many things, from a masterpiece to boring, from “if Studio Ghibli did a Gundam show” to “That show with the moustache Gundam in it”. In my opinion it’s a little bit of all those things (well, it’s entirely the show with the moustache Gundam in it, to be fair) While no masterpiece it is well written and has some great character moments, while not boring it does have some very slow moments. So, let’s take an overall look at the series, and see where in my opinion the show ends up…

Turn-A Gundam – Episodes 26 – 36 Review

You’d think due to where the story was going at the end of Episode 25 that this chunk would be set in space, but instead it’s surprisingly almost entirely set on Earth still. Not necessarily a bad thing of course, but I did feel at times that the story was treading water, especially in the case of the storyline involving Queen Dianna and her doppelganger. Anyway, let’s take a look!

Turn-A Gundam – Episodes 1 – 16 Review

Turn-A Gundam is a very odd series to cover. It’s pretty much the antithesis of Victory Gundam, that series being all negative and depressing, and this being all positive and full of hope. That being said, this does lead to the series leaning on both comedy and even romance, neither of which I find Tomino manages to land all that often. Still! Let’s take a look at what is currently the last TV or film effort set in the UC timeline (even if its set so far in the future that the name has changed) that I’ve yet to cover…

Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz Review

It’s time to end the After Colony era with “Endless Waltz” the OVA/film that puts a neat little bow on the Gundam Wing series. Or does it?! That’s actually a hard question to answer as it does add some missing backstory to some key characters, but it also feels very rushed. I guess the only thing to do is have a closer look!

Mobile Suit Gundam Wing – Overall Review

Sometimes I think the “Overall Review” isn’t very different from the part reviews, just a convenient place to get, well, an overall opinion. With Gundam Wing it’s odd because when looked at as a whole a few issues really get highlighted, especially an inescapable feeling of it being written on the fly. Does this hurt the series overall, or is it still worth a watch? Let’s take a look…

Mobile Suit Gundam Wing – Episodes 41 – 49 Review

While the road has been bumpy, full of radical direction changes and reorganisations galore, Gundam Wing reaches its finale and somehow we’ve ended up with a very familiar Earth vs. The Colonies set up, though one where the leaders of both sides aren’t your typical villain, and our “heroes” aren’t on either side. Does the finale pay off? Let’s find out!

Mobile Suit Gundam Wing – Episodes 29 – 40 Review

Gundam Wing continues on its path of constantly changing the narrative and factions at the drop of a hat in its third chunk, whether that’s a good thing or not I’m not sure, but at least the pace was never slow! So which side is which character on? What are the sides? Is Relena really back? Is there really a new character that’s even more annoying?! Let’s take a good look at these episodes and find out!

Mobile Suit Gundam Wing – Episodes 14 – 28 Review

Gundam Wing begins to properly kick into full gear as we look at the second chunk of episodes (though for the record, Episodes 27 and 28 are recap episodes, so really this is Episodes 14 to 26…) While the core quintet of Gundam Pilots are fleshed out a bit more I have to say that once again Zechs Merquise / Milliardo Peacecraft and his boss Trieze have the most interesting moments in the narrative. Want to find out more? Let’s dig a little deeper…
