Time to take a look at the just-finished-airing second half of My Hero Academia’s fifth season, adapting the Endeavour Training and Meta Liberation Army arcs. While the first arc had some good moments it’s the latter that really shone, casting light on our lead antagonists and not actually featuring the protagonists at all. “My Villain Academia” indeed! … Let’s take a look!

Star Wars: Visions Review
I love it when two completely separate parts of my entertainment life come together like this! Visions is a series of nine anime shorts based on Star Wars, with the creators (and we’re talking major studios and people in the anime industry) given free rein to do whatever they wanted, no need to stick to any canon or anything… and boy did they ever not! What’s it like? Given it’s a bunch of shorts how good is the hit rate? Let’s find out!
Continue readingMobile Suit Gundam SEED HD (Episodes 14 – 23) Review
Gundam SEED continues with more episodes that are often far closer to making it a remake of the original series than anything unique, though once again the differences are there once you look a bit closer. Sadly Flay is still here and it’s these episodes where she’s at her very worst. Can I bear with it? Let’s find out!

We arrive at our next Gundam series and it’s the start of one of the bigger “spin-off universes”, getting two full series, some OVAs and soon a film, so does that mean it’s right up there with the Universal Century stories? Erm… not in my book, anyway. Gundam SEED starts off using the blueprint of the original Gundam series but adding some more of the titular suits and a hell of a lot more teen angst. I’m watching the “HD” version, which means a lot of it is zoomed and cropped, but some of it has been reanimated! Sometimes for the worse, by all accounts… Anyway, let’s begin!

After being delayed what seems like 100 times now (I seriously wrote this back in June, I believe…) my review of the Blu-Ray release of My Hero Academia Season 4 Part 2 can be viewed by clicking HERE.
Even the more gentle, comedic arcs have a lot of story value!
Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai (Episodes 26 – 37) Review
In case you were wondering I haven’t forgotten about this series, it was the last of the reviews that were partly done when my personal tragedy occurred and I’ve only now got round to finishing it off / getting pictures. So what happened in the third chunk of Dragon Quest Adventures of Dai episodes? Well, quite a lot actually, including a very high-budget showdown between our titular hero and his father… Let’s take a look!
Continue readingBleach: Arrancar Arc (Episodes 300 – 302, 306 – 310, 342) Review
After roughly three months we finally reach the end of the Bleach: Arrancar Arc coverage. It’s been a long and twisty road, watching the anime adaptation of the arc with no filler breaks has certainly reinforced the idea that while it has its moments it’s no Soul Society Arc and at times feels made up as it went along rather than everything being planned. Still, does Tite Kubo stick the landing and deliver a satisfying end? Let’s find out!
Continue readingBleach: Arrancar Arc (Episodes 288 – 297) Review
This batch of ten episodes is where the anime team went into manga adaption overdrive as each episode is pretty much consistently two or so chapters each with very little added content, meaning that there is a LOT to cover so excuse the potential paragraph overload… Also: Aizen slashes a lot of people with his sword. Let’s take a look!
Continue readingBleach: Arrancar Arc (Episodes 279 – 286) Review
A smaller chunk of episodes this week but a chunk that actually ends the Arrancar part of the Arrancar arc, pretty much… plus Episode 287 is filler so it’s always nicer visually to just have one set of numbers in the thumbnail! So let’s take a look at what becomes of Espadas 1 – 3…
Continue readingBleach: Arrancar Arc (Episodes 266 – 278) Review
After it got teased all the way back at the start of the arc (which seems like months ago now… probably because it was!) we finally see the big fight between Ichigo and Ulquiorra, plus the other top three Espada show their powers and forms, making this chunk of episode a gold mine of very cool Tite Kubo imagery. What’s that? Story? Animation? Oh right! Let’s take a look and see if they hold up as well…
