The second half of Iron Fist Season 2 manages to continue the momentum from the first half and deliver a satisfying conclusion. The sheer difference in quality between seasons 1 and 2 is staggering, but that doesn’t mean this season is flawless… So let’s take a look and see just how many different Iron Fists one season can cram in!
The original Iron Fist season got a lot wrong, it was focused on boardroom politics too much, it had too many unlikable characters and, bizarrely, had few martial arts sequences and ones they did do were often poorly done. So, Season 2? Massive improvement so far. Better fights, more fights, and practically no scenes in Rand Enterprises at all! While it’s not perfect, it far better… so let’s take a look at the first half! (it’s only 10 episodes this time…)
Gotham’s fourth Season has come and gone… a long time ago in the States, but hey-ho! It has a lot of stories going on concurrently, some ending in the middle, others taking a rest for a bunch of episodes before returning, and in general it’s a very entertaining 22 episodes. Let’s take a closer look!
I loved the Tick cartoon back in the day, so I wasn’t convinced a live-action version would particularly work, so I put off watching it for a while. Well, I finally put episode 1 on a week or so ago and enjoyed it, and the show kept getting better as it went along! The humour was pitched perfectly, lampooning the superhero genre during a time where it’s all over the place. Let’s take a closer look!
Cloak & Dagger feels much more in line with the Netflix side of the MCU than any other, and I don’t just mean the few name drops in the show itself! It’s down to Earth and on street level, not afraid to show violence but also very much a super hero show. Let’s take a closer look at what was a pleasant surprise to watch…
Agents of SHIELD Season 5 is a mixed bag. They sadly dropped the three mini arcs idea from the previous season and went for a split, though with the two halves heavily dependent on each other. There were plenty of call-backs and pay-offs during this season, and an ending that would make you think it was the overall end, but there’s still more on the way! Anyway, let’s take a look then, at a season that spanned space, the future and beyond! … Well, actually, just space, the future and present day. Still impressive though!
Agents of SHIELD’s Fifth Season comes to a close, and boy, it has a lot of twists and turns, as well as pay-offs to long-running storylines. I really enjoyed this string of episodes, and if this ended up being the overall finale it would have been fine as well. As it stands a smaller-episode-count Sixth season has been confirmed for next year, so… anyway, let’s take a closer look at how Season 5 ended!
Luke Cage’s second season is a vast improvement over Season 1, or to be more precise, it’s like the great first half of Season 1, but across its whole 13 episode run. A fun new villain with a great, sympathetic backstory (as all good villains have!), an old villain who just keeps getting worse, and a great supporting cast. Let’s waste no more time and take a closer look at the season as a whole!
Luke Cage Season 2 comes to a satisfying end as all the loose ends are tied up, with get a dramatic fight, a significant character death, and big things are set up for a potential Season 3. What more do you want in a season finale?
Luke Cage Season 2 continues to get stronger as more cards are put on the table, and more little plots start coming together for a satisfying whole. Let’s hope this continues through to the finale, because it would be a shame to lose this momentum!
