Doctor Who: Flux – Survivors of the Flux Review

The fifth part of the Flux storyline feels less like part five and more like part one of a two-part finale as while the other Flux episodes have left things on a cliffhangers they have otherwise felt more standalone than this episode did. That’s not a bad thing but it does remind me why I normally cover two-parters in one review rather than two! Still, lets do our best to look at “Survivors of the Flux” without any knowledge of how these many plot threads will come together…

Doctor Who: Flux – Village of the Angels Review

Flux reaches its fourth chapter and pretty much takes a side-step to tell a new Weeping Angels story, though admittedly does tie it into the overarching narrative right at the end for a cracking cliffhanger. The story by itself though was a pretty entertaining use of the only real “iconic” new villains since the 2005 series return. So let’s take a closer look then!

Doctor Who: Flux – War of the Sontarans Review

War of the Sontarans is 90% a really good stand-alone Sontaran story and 10% a continuation of the Flux story arc, and it works really well! It’s nice seeing the titular potato-headed foes get a classic series inspired makeover and feel like a threat again (while still retaining the absurd humour aspect as well) and while it’s not exactly a flawless episode it was very entertaining! Doctor Who: Flux – The Halloween Apocalypse Review

I was of two minds about how to cover Doctor Who’s thirteenth series (since the revival) as it’s being billed as one six-part story titled “Flux”. As we got nearer the date though I thought to myself, if there is ever a series to cover each episode on this blog it’s Doctor Who, and given each episode has its own subtitle all the better.
