Bleach: Arrancar Arc (Episodes 300 – 302, 306 – 310, 342) Review

After roughly three months we finally reach the end of the Bleach: Arrancar Arc coverage. It’s been a long and twisty road, watching the anime adaptation of the arc with no filler breaks has certainly reinforced the idea that while it has its moments it’s no Soul Society Arc and at times feels made up as it went along rather than everything being planned. Still, does Tite Kubo stick the landing and deliver a satisfying end? Let’s find out!

Bleach: Arrancar Arc (Episodes 288 – 297) Review

This batch of ten episodes is where the anime team went into manga adaption overdrive as each episode is pretty much consistently two or so chapters each with very little added content, meaning that there is a LOT to cover so excuse the potential paragraph overload… Also: Aizen slashes a lot of people with his sword. Let’s take a look!

Bleach: Arrancar Arc (Episodes 266 – 278) Review

After it got teased all the way back at the start of the arc (which seems like months ago now… probably because it was!) we finally see the big fight between Ichigo and Ulquiorra, plus the other top three Espada show their powers and forms, making this chunk of episode a gold mine of very cool Tite Kubo imagery. What’s that? Story? Animation? Oh right! Let’s take a look and see if they hold up as well…

Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness Review

Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness is a new four-part CG series set in the video game canon, much like the three CG movies released over the last decade and a bit. In fact given the four episodes run about an hour and a half total and were all released at the same time means this is in reality just a fourth CG movie… Is it good though? Well, within the confines of being a Resident Evil property? Let’s find out!

Bleach: Arrancar Arc (Episodes 215 – 226) Review

The next phase of the Arrancar Arc decides to pause the main conflict and shine a light on the Lieutenants of Soul Society, giving them some focus and fodder to defeat before inevitably fading into the background (with the exception of one, anyway…) Is that a bad thing? No, not really. There are some popular characters receiving some forward momentum, which is never a bad thing when the cast is as large as Bleach’s. Let’s take a look!

Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway Review

Well I didn’t expect to be able to review this already! Thanks to Netflix somehow obtaining the rights to stream the movie just weeks after it left Japanese theatres the latest addition to the animated Universal Century timeline is here in Gundam: Hathaway, the first of three movies adapting the three-books-long novel “Hathaway’s Flash” by original Gundam creator Yoshiyuki Tomino. I’ve been looking forward to this for countless years, since whenever I saw the Gundam Penelope on some random website and thought it looked “cool”. Let’s take a look!

Bleach: Arrancar Arc (Episodes 206 – 212) Review

Very tempted to drop the Arrancar Arc title altogether for this mini-arc, given its entirely set 100 or so years before the current story, but it is both in the Manga and Anime an important part of the overall Arrancar Arc story, showing us how the Visoreds became Visoreds and their connection to Aizen and current events, plus how Urahara, Yoruichi and Tessai became banished to Earth for good measure. Let’s take a look then!

Bleach: Can’t Fear Your Own World – Volume 3 Anime UK News Review

As if there isn’t enough Bleach content on this blog at the moment I look at the third and final part of the epic-length light novel series for Anime UK News, the review can be found HERE. It fills in some continuity gaps and reveals some interesting backstory and lore, but it might not have been worth the two previous books to get there…
