The first season of Runaways was a pleasant surprise to me when I finally sat down to watch it, and thankfully Season 2 kept the momentum going, even if it did slow to a crawl in the middle… Anyway, let’s take a look at Runaways Season 2 overall then!
We’re half way through the final season of Game of Thrones already, and we’ve had the long awaited showdown with the Night King and his army of the dead. Frankly that is all we’ve had, with episode 2 being entirely build up, and episode 3 being the entire battle. While it was good, and had some great moments, I can’t help feeling it was a bit of an anti-climax, probably because it wasn’t the climax… Let’s have a look, anyway!
Well, I’m tackling the endless parade of US comic adaptation TV shows at a slower pace this year, but I’m happy I still gave Gifted a second go-round, as it was once again a fun show. While not without its faults, at least all the establishing of setting and lead characters was out of the way, and we got a good central antagonist and a bit of a twisty plot. Let’s have a closer look…

How does The Walking Dead function without Rick Grimes? Well, not too badly, as it turns out. While the series certainly feels like its missing a central character to focus on, there are enough interesting characters and plot left that when combined with an interesting new enemy to face, it’s led to a good few episodes of TV. Not perfect by any means, but good. Let’s take a closer look.
Another day, another Netflix show that I didn’t immediately jump on but ended up enjoying immensely. Umbrella Academy is at its heart a superhero show about a dysfunctional group of heroes getting together to stop a threat, but it doesn’t take itself seriously, its cast is a mishmash of troubled souls quite unlike anything I’ve ever seen, and it’s just generally bonkers. At only 10 episodes it doesn’t overstay its welcome either! Let’s take deeper look, anyway…
As Amazon Prime gets ready to bring us Season 4, we here in the UK have only just got access to The Expanse’s Third Season, and boy… it was worth the wait! Once again the first few episodes end the adaptation of a book that started in the previous season, but this time the third novel is adapted fully by the end of the series, and it makes for a crazy ride! Let’s take a closer look…
It’s been a little while, but let’s get back to UFO for the second third of the series. Once again its a mix of really good episodes, including more Straker family drama, and episodes that are just flat-out boring. Thankfully there are far more of the former than the latter, and some episodes were really ahead of their time. Let’s take a deeper look.
Titans, shown over here in the UK on Netflix, reminded me a lot of Krypton, not by tone of story or focusing on any kind of specific origin, but in that after the first two or three episodes I was considering turning it off, but now I’m happy enough that I stuck with it. It’s not an amazing show, but the last two-thirds of the season was a fun watch nonetheless. Let’s take a closer look…
The Punisher’s second season was less focused than the first, and told a less compelling story, but it has to be said that it was still fun to watch. Ben Barnes’ Billy Russo was believably crazy and The Punisher is still an interestingly broken character himself. Let’s take a closer look at the series overall, then…
