The last of the “classic” Universal Century OVAs, Stardust Memory takes place in between the original series and Zeta Gundam, doing an unnecessarily long and twisty version of events that led to the formation of the Titans group so prominently featured in the latter series. It also features a very interesting villain and a fun, if not always likeable, protagonist to face off against him. Let’s take a good look at this 13-Episode series…

Despite best efforts and some reluctance, I’ve ended up covering Boruto for Anime UK News, following on from my coverage of Naruto for the site…. *sigh*, ah well, once more unto the breach!… or maybe something less dramatic.
In other words, my review of the first set can be found by clicking HERE. Enjoy!

We’re nearly reaching the end of Naruto Shippuden’s slow… slow “box set” releases! My review of Set 37 can be found HERE.

I was warned that the Amazon Lily arc of One Piece was… not very good, to put it mildly. I assumed it would just be a silly jokey thing sandwiched in between an arc with a darker ending, and two arcs that are also far more dramatic to come, and I was right for the most part, it’s just the silly jokes turned out to be old-fashioned and really not very funny. The best compliment I can give it is that it’s mercifully short! So let’s have a look…

My review of the dubbed only release of Lupin the 3rd Part IV for Anime UK News can be found HERE. A fun time, even if dubbed isn’t often my method of choice.

I uncharacteristically spent a little extra money on importing the latest entry into the Universal Century Gundam timeline, Narrative having English subtitles and a dub on the Japanese blu-ray disc. Why not, right? So what’s it like? It’s a bit short of time for character development beyond the lead trio, but I did really enjoy it, and it filled in a plothole that Unicorn created very neatly, so now we can move on to Hathaway’s Flash without wondering why everyone isn’t using crazy Psycho-Frame Gundams… Let’s have a look!

We reach the end of the Persona 5 Animation (quickly due to most of this being written at the time and saved for later!) with the two TV Specials: “Dark Sun” (written as “Dark Sun…”) and “Stars and Ours”. They both cover one of the two final story arcs each and once again do a good job of adapting the actual core story and fighting aspects, at the cost of nearly all of the social side of the game. Let’s have a closer look at how it all ends, then, shall we?

The second half of Persona 5: The Animation gets to … near the end of the storyline, but the actual end of the anime adaptation comes in the form of two TV specials I’ll be covering next week. So, how does this chunk of the story pan out? Well, once again, very well! It sticks to the game’s script well, while obviously cutting out a lot of the slice of life stuff, and creates a fun little series, especially if you’re a fan of the game. So let’s take a closer look…

The next part of catching up on streaming shows is Persona 5, which is at least relevant as I’ve covered the animated version of Personas 3 and 4 on this blog already. Persona 5 is a game I actually went through from start to finish, so seeing the animated version was fun in a different way to P4, especially the use of the game’s fantastic soundtrack. So let’s take a look at the series’ first half… or third, if you count the two TV specials, I guess!
