The first full cast Audio Drama series from Big Finish comes to a rather epic conclusion as Travis makes an appearance… alongside the President of the Earth Federation himself! These are three top quality stories, showing this Audio Series to be a fine example for the medium and for Blake’s 7 stories. Let’s take a closer look!
What’s that? You thought Blake’s 7 was finished on this blog? Nope! As a big fan of the Big Finish audio releases for Doctor Who, I had to give their Blake’s 7 range a go, especially as the whole of the first series was relatively cheap! Let’s take a look at the first half of the first Full Cast Audio Drama series, shall we!
Blake’s 7 comes to its ultimate conclusion with the last four episodes of Series 4. Besides the now infamous ending to Episode 13, does the show go out with a bang? Close, I really loved three of the four episodes, which is better than most of this series so far, but it still doesn’t come close to Series 3. Still, a good end, and certainly a memorable one…
Blake’s 7 is nearing its end, so does the pace pick up? Yes! The last two episodes of this batch are really strong, and the other two are better than a lot of the opening five. Let’s take a closer look!
Still-Blake-less 7 continues into its fourth (and final) series, now without series regular Cally or the iconic ship Liberator. Can the show survive such a dramatic shift? Half way through my first watch of Blake’s 7 (sadly, in terms of the blog, but hey-ho, I can always re-watch the first two series in a …few years) and I reached the half of the overall series where the titular Blake is no longer around, and the format gets a bit of a re-jig. Is it a bad shake up? Not entirely!
