So here we reach the end of the Excelis story and have the debut of the original Bernice Summerfield series on the blog (don’t expect any more of those any time soon… though I will at least finish the box set era of Benny soon!) What I thought was just an extra tacked onto the trilogy with The Doctor and Greyvorn turns out to be really important as with the return of Iris Wildthyme comes the actual explanation of the mysterious relic and how the planet ends up in ruins… Let’s take a look!

Doctor Who: Excelis Decays Review
The final part in this Excelis “Saga” (with one Bernice Summerfield spin-off still to come!) isn’t quite up to the same level as the previous two that came before it. Decays isn’t bad, it’s just not up to the same standard and is a lot more straight forward, and less funny to boot. Oh well! What’s it like overall? Let’s find out!

I’ve always been interested in the Excelis stories, a trilogy of audio dramas across the Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Doctors (plus one Bernice Summerfield story) all set on the same world with the same immortal but many years apart created to appease classic fans who may not take to the debuting Eighth Doctor, but I’ve always been put off by the Seventh Doctor entry being CD only. Well a couple of weeks ago it finally appeared for Download and the whole four story set was bundled in an offer, so off we finally go! Excelis Dawns also features the audio debut of Iris Wildthyme, which is sometimes fun, often overbearing. Is that still true here?! Let’s find out!
