Continuing my look through the Doctor Who Magazine “Doorway to Hell” graphic novel we get the next two stories, Bloodsport and Be Forgot, before we get to the “main event”, so to speak. Bloodsport is a perfectly fine little tale with a rather bluntly delivered message, and Be Forgot is a rather harrowingly realistic portrayal of a man suffering from mental health issues… which is nice to see portrayed now and again, and so well too. Let’s take a look at them!
After getting it as a Christmas present, I’m finally actually reading the latest Doctor Who Magazine collected comic release, “Doorway to Hell”, starting with these two stories! The Pestilent Heart is a good little story, and sets up a new and fun status quo going into at least the next few stories. Moving In? … Erm. Yeah. Not so good. Still, let’s take a look!
My journey through the Emperor of the Daleks collected DWM comics comes to an end with these two low-key stories. It also marks the end of the Seventh Doctor comic strips in the magazine, as after this they just switched between Doctors as the idea of new Who on TV began to vanish. So let’s see how this era of British Who comics came to an end!

Emperor of the Daleks is another continuity-fest from the early 90s pages of Doctor Who Magazine. Davros! Daleks! Abslom Daak! Two Doctors! Plus a whole chapter is colour! Let’s have a look at the six part story, plus the sort-of prequel “Up Above The Gods”, a single chapter story that fits in between chapters 1 and 2 of the story.
Having finally picked up my copy of “Emperor of the Daleks”, the latest collection of Doctor Who Magazine comics, it’s time to start the third part of the trinity of Doctor Who media I enjoy. All these stories were released in 92 / 93, where Doctor Who had been off TV for some time and Virgin books’ “New Adventures” line was popular with a good chunk of remaining fans, meaning two things: loads of continuity references due to a lack of new fans, and the appearance of Bernice “Benny” Summerfield from the books as a companion. Let’s take a look at the first two stories in the collection then…
