So I thought to myself a few weeks ago “if the special chapter isn’t just a jokey throwaway thing I might do a quick look at it on my blog, but otherwise I have enough Bleach going up at the moment…” and then suddenly not only is it full of new continuity, characters and plot but it also seemingly starts a whole new story arc! Bizarre. Let’s take a look, though keep in mind it has spoilers for both the chapter and the overall ending of Bleach, so if you’re waiting for that 1,000 Year Blood War Arc anime adaptation you may want to skip this review…

Doctor Who: The War Master – Killing Time Review

The War Master is back and on fine form for those who wish to hear Derek Jacobi be a completely evil git. Frankly, who doesn’t wish that? However it does have to be said that the first two episodes in this box do have mild pacing issues, so it’s not quite on the level of some of the earlier War Masters sets, especially if you don’t like political scheming. The King of Fighters: A New Beginning – Volume 5 Review

“A New Beginning” once again leans heavily of prior King of Fighters lore as the NESTS arc from KOF 99-01 is pretty much given a sequel here and all connections to KOF XIV is nearly dropped, if it weren’t for Team South America’s presence. Is this a bad thing? Not for me, it was the NESTS arc that drew me into the series proper, but for a manga titled “A New Beginning”? Probably, yeah… Let’s take a look anyway!

Blog Update

Hi all,

So yesterday was my Mum’s funeral, and while I’m not back to my old self just yet I do feel a lot better this morning. I’m hoping my reviewing mojo will return soon and certainly there are a few reviews that were half done before my life momentarily crumbled I should be able to finish.

Basically I just wanted to say that I’m on the way back up, just so my last post doesn’t hang around at the top of the blog any more…

Bleach: Arrancar Arc (Episodes 266 – 278) Review

After it got teased all the way back at the start of the arc (which seems like months ago now… probably because it was!) we finally see the big fight between Ichigo and Ulquiorra, plus the other top three Espada show their powers and forms, making this chunk of episode a gold mine of very cool Tite Kubo imagery. What’s that? Story? Animation? Oh right! Let’s take a look and see if they hold up as well…
