It probably shouldn’t come as a surprise that I was chosen to be the reviewer for the physical releases of the Dragon Ball Super, at least up until they catch up with my streaming reviews anyway. So HERE is the first 13 episodes, on blu-ray no less!

I know it’s not really a review as such, but I was among the Anime UK News staff to talk about the start of the Autumn anime season, and it can be read HERE . I won’t be saving this in the tabs above, as again it’s not a review, but I thought I’d share it anyway!

The Persona series of games aren’t something that really interested me, at least gameplay-wise. I didn’t want to sink many… many hours into a school life sim / traditional turn-based RPG, so I always just kept an eye on it. I saw my friend play through about a third of Persona 3, and then through all of 5, and that’s when I decided to buy Anime Limited’s releases of the Persona 3 films (as well as the Blu-ray release of Persona 4: The Animation, I’ll get to that later though!) Starting with the first two films then, let’s have a look at how such a long and twisty game can be made into a visually stunning anime film series!

My latest review of episodes from the currently airing Dragon Ball Super has gone up at Anime UK News HERE. Goku gets a new transformation! Yep, it’s that time of the year! … or month, really… 😛

My review of BlazBlue: Alter Memory, the adaptation of the first two BlazBlue games (well, rough adaptations of the first two games), for Anime UK News can be found by clicking HERE .

My review of God Eater – Part 2 is up on Anime UK News, and can be viewed by clicking HERE . At least this time the Part 2 was of the same quality as the Part 1!

My review of the second half of Charlotte has gone up on Anime UK News, and can be viewed by clicking HERE . Sadly the show fell off a cliff in the later episodes… ah well, can’t be helped sometimes…

Even though it isn’t a TV series, it is a series of episodes and does have an over-arching plot to talk about rather than unconnected stories, so I’ll give Hellsing Ultimate the “Overall Review” treatment. If you’ve been reading the five individual parts you’ll know that this type of show isn’t normally my cup of tea, but there is something about the character designs and insane plot that makes it enjoyable. So, for the last time, let’s take a closer look!

I’m a sad man… not as in I’m unhappy, but as in I’ve kept track of the things I’ve reviewed over the past few years, and I can now say that, if you combine my reviews for Anime UK News, here on this blog, my sparsely updated gaming blog and my long-abandoned but still technically active wrestling review blog, then you get the grand total of 199! So for my 200th published review I though I’d publish one of my first reviews ever. This is the review I wrote as a sample review in order to eventually land the Anime UK News job, but since there was already a perfectly fine Dragon Ball Z Kai Season 1 review up, it obviously went unused (beyond the use of proving I can write reviews and getting me the job, obviously!), but that also means it doesn’t fall under the category being property of Anime UK News, meaning I can post the review here.
So I thought it would be fun to post it as a celebration of my reviews, especially as that would mean I won’t just have Seasons 2-4 links on this site and I can complete the set. So here it is, no pictures, just the text that got me started down this path…

Hellsing Ultimate, and therefore the original Hellsing Manga’s storyline, reaches its end with the 9th and 10th OVAs. As I’ve mentioned previously, this was actually my first time seeing them, after only I – VIII being available here in the UK until Crunchyroll’s recent upload. In the end, while it does tie up lose ends and has some good moments, none are as good as Seras vs. Zorin or Alucard vs. Anderson from the previous two Volumes. Still, a good enough end, I feel. Let’s take a closer look!
