24: Day 4 – 6:00pm to 7:00am Review

My review of the first half of Season 4 can be found by clicking HERE.

24’s Fourth Season / Day comes to a close with one of the crazier terrorist plots they’ve ever gone with, and given they had a nuke go off in Season 2 that’s really saying something! Sadly this season still feels like “the one before the really good one”, especially when some of the Season 5 key players arrive, but it does have its moments. Let’s take a look!

Star Wars: Visions – Season 2 Review

I really enjoyed the original Visions back in 2021, made entirely of anime shorts, so hearing of a second season was exciting enough but hearing it included studios from all over the globe made it really interesting as well, so I’m happy to report that Season 2 lived up to both those expectations and delivered another fun selection of unrestrained-by-canon Star Wars storytelling. Let’s take a deeper look!

Doctor Who: Atillia The Lost Review

Antillia The Lost is a strange one to review as it’s more formulaic than the previous story but Margaret was far more… bearable as a companion, even if it was only due to her personality being reset to “generic companion” throughout the story. Still, if you like your pulpy sci-fi clichés, um, pulpy then you’ll have a fun time, so let’s take a look!

Doctor Who: Ice Heist! Review

The latest set of Fourth Doctor adventures is here once again comprised of two four-parters thrown in a box to match the other Doctor Who releases, so I won’t be including the box title. It kicks off a “new era” of sorts as Margaret from last year’s “The Ravencliff Witch” is brought on board as a companion alongside Leela and frankly… I just don’t think it works. I said in the review for that story that I found it odd she made a big enough impression to get the permanent gig when she was one of the few potential companions that didn’t stand out to me at all, and, well… sadly my gut feeling was right, at least in my opinion. That’s the problem with recording so many stories in advance I guess! Well, either way, let’s take a deeper look into “Ice Heist!” and see what does work, shall we?

The Mandalorian – Season 3 Review

It’s time to look at a new series of the ever-popular Star Wars show The Mandalorian, and once again it was a really fun trip with great action and plenty of lore nods, though I will say there were some moments that felt like the show was going on fast-forward, like it had been cancelled so they had to wrap up as many plot-threads as they could in one season, even though it’s far from cancelled! Still good fun though, so let’s take a look.

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny HD (Episodes 1 – 14) Review

It’s been a little while but it’s time to cover the second half of the Cosmic Era Gundam shows with Destiny, once again the “HD Remaster” version though this time it doesn’t cut out the recap episodes so there seemed to be little point in it really, forced 16:9 aside, but you know… I like consistency! The original SEED anime followed the original Gundam series quite closely for a lot of its run and while not as blatant Destiny does also have several things in common with Zeta Gundam, mostly a new protagonist who a bit of a knob. Let’s take a look at the first 14 episodes!

Super Robot Wars 30 Review

When I reviewed SRW T in 2021 I said about the then-soon-to-be-released Super Robot Wars 30 and how I’d wait a year this time, and given its now 2023 you’d think I kept that promise but the truth is I brought this and all its DLC back in August it’s just that the game is so long that I started getting burnout in early October so decided to “rest it”, picking it back up last month and finally completing it last week (after Resi 4 Remake) Is the staggering 139 hours I sank into this tactical RPG worth it? Let’s find out!

The Walking Dead – Vol. 11 & 12: “Fear the Hunters” and “Life Among Them” Review

It’s time for another chunk of black and white Walking Dead goodness (well, in terms of storytelling, not so much tone…) as we get some dramatic send-offs and some horrifying moments before we reach the all-too-familiar (for those of us who watched the TV show first) location of Alexandria. Let’s take a look!

Doctor Who: The Return of Jo Jones – The Conservitors & The Iron Shore Review

The Return of Jo Jones’ second and third story sadly follow on from the first in being perfectly fine but a bit dull and predictable. The two-parter format doesn’t help, but I’ve heard good two-parters before so it’s not an excuse really! Oh well, let’s take a look at “The Conservitors” and “The Iron Shore”, shall we?
