Fatal Fury: Legend of the Hungry Wolf Review

So before I tackle another long series in episode chunks I thought I’d take a look at the trio of two OVAs and a film based on Fatal Fury now they’ve been uploaded to Crunchyroll. I’ve always wanted to watch them but could never find them on physical media, so this was a real pleasant surprise, but was it a pleasant watch though? Does it live up to the lofty heights set by Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie that was actually the first anime I ever watched? Let’s find out!

Doctor Who: Time Lord Victorious – Defender of the Daleks Review

You thought we were done with Time Lord Victorious? Not yet! Along with the DWM Ninth Doctor story yet to be released in GN format (so who knows when we’ll actually be done…), there was this story from Titan Comics that I thought I’d finally get round to reading as we have the only other TLV release up on the site this week. Defender of the Daleks is… Alright, I guess. It doesn’t really add anything to the overall narrative though… so it’s right at home! Let’s take a look…

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Review

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier feels like a new Captain America film but stretched out to six hours. In a lot of ways this is good, the two titular characters have more development here than they ever had in their film appearances, but sometimes it was a little bit too slow for its own good. What ratio from good and slow is it? Let’s find out!

Doctor Who: Time Lord Victorious – Echoes of Extinction Review

Hands up who remembers Time Lord Victorious? It was only a couple of months ago the multi-media event ended but already it seems like old hat, probably because at most it was good but often it was average, so it didn’t exactly have the big impact it promised. Well, anyway, Echoes of Extinction was delayed several months due to the old pandemic-ness and therefore has even LESS impact than if it made its original date. Oh well, let’s have a look…

Doctor Who: Dalek Universe 1 – The House of Kingdom Review

After an absolute stunner of an opening two parter we get a more traditional affair with “The House of Kingdom”. Bringing the focus in on Anya Kingdom and establishing some backstory for her is the core idea of the story and it does it well, plus who doesn’t want to hear David Tennant face off with the Mechanoids?! Let’s take a look!

Turn-A Gundam Overall Series Review

Turn-A Gundam has been called many things, from a masterpiece to boring, from “if Studio Ghibli did a Gundam show” to “That show with the moustache Gundam in it”. In my opinion it’s a little bit of all those things (well, it’s entirely the show with the moustache Gundam in it, to be fair) While no masterpiece it is well written and has some great character moments, while not boring it does have some very slow moments. So, let’s take an overall look at the series, and see where in my opinion the show ends up…

Doctor Who: Dalek Universe 1 – Buying Time / The Wrong Woman Review

Dalek Universe kicks off proper with one hell of a two-parter by the always impressive John Dorney. To say the plot twists and turns would be an understatement, and to properly talk about how much I enjoyed this story I’ll have to stop here and wait until we get to the spoilerful review itself! SERIOUSLY DON’T READ THIS REVIEW IF YOU’RE PLANNING ON LISTENING TO IT LATER. … Let’s take a look!

Captain America: The Winter Soldier Review

The second Captain America solo film is full of new and returning characters (though not as many as the third film!) and has an extremely significant plot twist half way through. Throw in plenty of well shot action and fight scenes and you have a genuine hit on your hands. Between this and Civil War it’s no wonder the Russo brothers were chosen to helm the final two Avengers films… Let’s take a look!

Doctor Who: The Dalek Protocol Review

Advertised as “Dalek Universe: The Dalek Protocol”, this story was quite clearly just a regular FDA brought forward and given a special tag because it ends up getting referenced in the Dalek Universe 10th Doctor strand, so I’m just keeping it as its original name. That being said, is it any good? Well… It’s … okay, I guess? It suffers from several of the negative sticking points that a lot of Nicholas Briggs scripts do, made worse by the man voicing so many characters in the play when his voice is already far too recognisable (apart from the Daleks, obviously!) but it’s not all bad… Let’s have a look!
