Well, it’s a Groundhog day episode… again. Well, to be fair, Doctor Who on TV hasn’t really done them but so many other shows I’ve watched or even Who on Audio has used the concept in recent years that it’s a bit old hat to me now. The second half of River Song’s second series is far more inconsistent than the first, with the first story just featuring River and Sixth Doctor standing out in particular for being … very oddly written, to put it politely, not to mention now sharing a title with a “proper” TV story. Time to fill in that gap I created long ago by covering the first DORS series then jumping straight to the then-newly-released Series 4. Although it started off quite weakly Stranded 3 at least ends on a higher note as its last two episodes, while not without flaws, are much more entertaining. The final episode uses a non-traditional story method which may not be to everyone taste though, so it more than any other story in the box your opinion of it may vary greatly from mine.
