Legends of Tomorrow – Season 4 Episodes 1 – 8 Review

LoT S4 P1

Legends of Tomorrow was, in my opinion, the best of the four Arrowverse seasons from last year, being as funny as it was entertaining and occasionally dramatic, and while they definitely leaned in too hard on the humour so far, Season 4 still offers up a fun mix of time travel antics and fun character interactions. Let’s have a closer look!

Elseworlds Review

Elseworlds

The 2018 Arrowverse crossover was a different kind of beast than the previous two, being less focused on all-out action between teams of people, and more interested in doing three things: explore the psyche of Barry and Oliver, create a backdoor pilot for a Batwoman series, and set things up for 2019’s big crossover. It does all these things well, but it also makes for a less interesting crossover, especially as I’ve had my fill of “evil” versions of the established cast…Let’s take a look, anyway!

Arrow – Season 7 Episodes 1 – 8 Review

Arrow S7 P1

Arrow’s seventh season starts off in familiar fashion to previous Arrowverse storylines, though unlike when Flash put their lead behind bars at the start of the year, this time it actually felt like it matters (and it was for more than two episodes…) It created a more unique atmosphere, when combined with an interesting flashforward rather than the usual flashback, it makes this season at least get off to a more interesting start than a lot of previous efforts…

Supergirl – Season 4 Episodes 1 – 8 Review

Supergirl S4 P1

Supergirl Season 4 kicks off with a rather on-the-nose look at racism and nationalism in our current society by transplanting aliens as the new foreign menace that are stealing people’s jobs and can’t be trusted etc. It’s all rather dull, and in my case (and hopefully yours too!), it’s preaching to the choir and taking a lot of the reality-escaping fun away from the show… So, yeah. Let’s take a closer look!

The Flash – Season 5 Episodes 1 – 8 Review

Flash S5 P1

It must be getting close to Christmas, as it’s time to start looking at the first third of the new Arrowverse seasons! First up, oddly as it’s the last to air, is The Flash Season 5, which has so far been good. Nothing ground breaking just yet, the idea of Barry and Iris’ daughter from the future arriving is at least a new one, and the current lead villain is a bit different, if not on the extremely cheesy side… Let’s take a look!

Supergirl – Season 3 Overall Review

Supergirl S3

Arrow Season 3, Flash Season 3, Supergirl Season 3. What do all these seasons have in common? They’re all poor examples of the show, and denote a really big downturn in quality. Yep, Supergirl Season 3 actually makes the exact same mistake as Flash’s third season by dropping the humour and superheroics in favour of angst and family drama, except this time it doesn’t haven’t have some of the good episodes thrown in. Let’s take an overall look then…

Supergirl – Season 3 Episodes 19 – 23 Review

Supergirl S3 P3

Supergirl’s third seasons comes to a disappointing end, with a particularly bad finale. It’s a real shame because the first third really showed promise for an interesting season ahead, but sadly it kept the theme of melodrama and angst and focused less and less about the super powers and… well, superheroics, until we got to this… *sigh* Let’s take a look, then…

The Flash – Season 4 Overall Review

Flash Season 4

The Flash season 4 had a very different feel to it thanks to the lead antagonist not being a speedster. The Thinker was a definite highlight, though credit also has to go to new side-character Ralph Dibny / The Elongated Man as well, who was a constant highlight himself. Either way, although it wasn’t perfect, it was a good season, with a tight direction and a fresher feeling. Let’s take an overall look!
