Doctor Who: The Time Monster Review

Another Blu-Ray Season set release, another review! Season 9 is one I’ve frequently revisited over the years due to my love of the Pertwee era but The Time Monster (and its preceding story The Mutants) are ones I’ve watched less due to them being… quite dull. Well, the Mutants anyway, this at least has plenty of UNIT and Delgado Master in it, that always livens things up which is why it’s funny it’s the one it’s been longest since I last watched. Have I forgotten something I disliked about it? Is the weird silver birdman Kronos just too weird? Let’s find out!

Attack on Titan – The Final Season: The Final Chapters Part 1 Review

Bloody hell, “The Final Season: The Final Chapters Part 1”? Really? Well, agonisingly slow release schedule aside we’ve reached the final chunk of the Final Season that’s not actually the finale, so next time we can actually put this series to bed. This one hour special was very good though, I think if you end up watching the series after its finished you’ll probably think very highly of the Final Season, not realising it was so slowly rolled out. Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury – Season 1 Review

Well I didn’t expect this to be the next Gundam review that found its way on this blog, but that’s the past two years of my life for you… The Witch From Mercury is the latest Gundam series (that actually debuted back in the autumn and I’m only now getting round to reviewing it, but that’s the last two years for you… again!) and features several departures from the norm, but for the most part these changes have worked really well. Red Dwarf VII Review

Red Dwarf’s seventh series is an odd one for me, and indeed for the show in general. Rob Grant left the writing team leaving Doug Naylor as the sole writer and his vision of the show was a lot more… cinematic and leaned heavier on the sci-fi than previous series. In terms of Series VII it works more than it doesn’t but I can’t say the same for the next two… Also VII was the first series I watched as it aired rather than through repeats / VHS tapes, so it also holds a special place in my heart for the reason… Overall though it’s a mixed bag, so let’s take a look!

Mario Kart: Double Dash!! (GameCube) Review

Another Mario Kart 8 Booster Pass release, another older game review! We’ve reached the full 3D polygon era of Mario Kart with Double Dash!! (Yes, complete with two exclamation marks!!) and with it a lot of things now associated with the franchise, especially the multiple drift levels and mini-boosts. It also came with a team mechanic where you choose two drivers for each kart and can even do co-op, something that has been dropped from later entries… let’s take a look!
