We actually got another full-ish series on TV and although its counted as one story titled “Flux” I decided to still break it up into its individual episodes… not that it helped it much, to be frank. Well time flies when you’re having… a pretty awful year. Still, plenty on the telly! Yes 2021 was a bad year for my family but that doesn’t impact what was a good year for me outside of reality and on my TV screen. Admittedly if you’re not into Marvel or Star Wars this list would look a hell of a lot different, so I will mention that I’m not in any way being paid by Disney. The second half of River Song’s second series is far more inconsistent than the first, with the first story just featuring River and Sixth Doctor standing out in particular for being … very oddly written, to put it politely, not to mention now sharing a title with a “proper” TV story. Can the first story to feature River and two different Doctors save it and end the set on a high note? Let’s find out!

It took a while to convince me to watch this series as I have had zero interest in the game the show is based on, but the clips I saw were extremely impressive so once I saw a few people say no knowledge of the game was necessary to watch it I gave it a shot, and those people were right! It’s a truly stunning series visually and the story has lots of twists, believable characters and really mature storytelling, the good kind of mature storytelling, not the over-the-top swearing and nudity kind (I’m looking at you, Live Action Cowboy Bebop!) Let’s take a look!

Time to fill in that gap I created long ago by covering the first DORS series then jumping straight to the then-newly-released Series 4. Unlike the previous series and the next two, Series 2 has River meet two Doctors in the same set, though she meets them both in their own story and then both of them at once! I particularly like how River and the Seventh Doctor interact, so it’s a good thing he’s up first… Let’s take a look!

After sadly steering clear of the Avengers game due to, well, everything I was sceptical when this was announced. Thankfully the reviews made sure to point out that it was a single player story driven experience free of all the daily challenges and micro-transactions of its bigger brother, and soon it was on sale at £38.99 so I snapped it up, and I’m glad I did. It’s a fun game but a great story, one that obviously takes most of its cues from the film series but does add in a few more Marvel comic characters and locations into the mix as well. Let’s take a look!

Twas the morning before Christmas and… I thought I’d upload the review of the just-finished Hawkeye series before the holidays, given its so heavily tied to it. A series based solely on Hawkeye may not have been the most obvious idea to pick but as per usual in the MCU they knew what they were doing as it was a real fun series to follow, with newly minted hero Kate Bishop being well handled and a return I have been quietly hoping for finally becoming reality. The Matrix trilogy (which is an incorrect term as of today in cinemas!) comes to a close with what is undeniably a bit of a let-down. While I’ll admit watching it for this review I actually liked it more than I remembered it’s still full of flaws that just weren’t present in the previous two entries. Still, with a fourth film now out, how does the old final film in the series stand up? Let’s find out!
