The Dragon Ball Super manga has continued its monthly printing for the past few years with the “Granolah The Survivor” arc, a story arc that started off so well but quickly spiralled downwards until it ended with one of the very worst finales I think I’ve ever seen, read or listened to. Want to know more? Trust me, you don’t.

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Anime UK News Review
Been a while since I got to review anything for Anime UK News, thrilled it was a “screener” for the up-coming new Dragon Ball cinematic release! You can read the review by CLICKING HERE.
It was an odd film, and I wasn’t 100% sold on the new animation style, but it was still a fun 90 minutes!
Super Dragon Ball Heroes – Universe Creation Arc (Episodes 20 – 32) Review
Do you remember Super Dragon Ball Heroes, the web-only anime series created solely to sell cards to Japanese arcade goers? Well, I didn’t, at least until I was spell-checking something on this blog and one of my old reviews of the series popped up as a recommended page. Well, since my next big anime review series is taking some time I thought I’d watch the next “story” arc and throw up a review to keep things going for a bit. It’s pretty poor, but then given it’s a free advert I can’t complain too much… Can I?!
Continue readingDragon Ball Z: Kakarot (PS4) Review
While I finally do have a plan in place to cover the many Dragon Ball games in my collection on this blog including this game would mean reviewing it a good few years from now so I’d rather review it now after I’ve just played it, especially since there is still more than enough DB games to cover for that eventual plan as it is. So yeah, I finally played DBZ Kakarot at the start of the year after the complete collection was on sale for roughly £10 digitally. The combat didn’t look inspiring and the story was just the same-old so I didn’t get it at launch, despite free-roaming the Dragon Ball world sounding very fun. Were my instincts correct? Let’s find out!
Continue readingGhost in the Shell: SAC_2045 – Season 2 Review
After being less than impressed over Season 1 of this CG addition to the Stand Alone Complex series I wasn’t in a hurry to get round to Season 2, released nearly two years later. Still, looking back at the old review one of the things I did say was that the plot did pick up towards the end and I was interested in seeing where it was going, so did it end up going anywhere interesting? Let’s find out!
Continue readingAttack on Titan – The Final Season (Episodes 76 – 87) Review
Attack on Titan’s final sea- … oh, right, the second half of Attack on Titan’s final sea- … Oh, okay then. The second third of the Attack on Titan’s final season was full of fun plot twists and really delved deep into the lore of the series, so much so that despite me poking fun at the “Final Season” now being three seasons long I’m happy they didn’t have to rush anything. So after a delay of a month or so let’s finally get a review up!
Continue readingDragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai (Episodes 51 – 67) Review
I was going to open with a joke about it being nearly time to review another load of episodes (because yes, the series is somehow still going strong…) but thanks to a certain Toei Animation hacking incident the show went off the air for a month, so this review actually isn’t that far behind despite the delay of finishing it on my end. So, Adventure of Dai, eh? Yes, I really want to put “looks like its entered its final arc” but I’ve made that mistake before, so let’s just say “thinks have picked up” and leave it at that…
Continue readingJujutsu Kaisen 0 Anime UK News Review
I was once again given the honour of watching a movie “screener” of an up-coming cinema release of a popular Shonen anime film, in this case Jujutsu Kaisen 0! It was a great watch and I bet it looks amazing on the big screen, if you want my full more detailed thoughts you can click HERE to read the review on Anime UK News itself.
One Piece – Wano Arc (Episodes 981 – 1011) Review
I’ve been waiting for a natural break in One Piece’s Wano Arc but with the storyline is in full swing now everyone has actually made it to Onigashima, it’s been more tricky. Thankfully the end of Episode 1011 (yes, Episode one thousand and eleven…) had at least a nice little cliffhanger to end on, sort of literally! So as we do two or three times a year, let’s take a look at a chunk of recently-aired One Piece!
Continue readingBlade Runner: Black Lotus Review
I love the Blade Runner universe and have done for many, many years now, so a dedicated anime series set in the dystopian world made by the people who created the great Blackout 2022 anime short? I was all in… except when I saw it was a CG animated series. As I’ve said before more often than not I can’t find myself investing in CG animation the same as traditional animation, something about the look or movement of the characters just… I don’t know, puts me off. Still much like with Ghost in the Shell’s recent CG anime series my love for the original property made me stick it out and what I got was … well, a series full of really bog-standard story beats but with a great soundtrack! Let’s take a look…
