“The Return of Jo Jones” is an odd boxset. Apparently this reunion of the Third Doctor and an older Jo came about from Katy Manning saying she was struggling to do the young Jo voice but honestly her performance here doesn’t sound that far removed from her other Jo voicework anyway… Still, if it makes her happier to continue then sure, why not? Sadly this opening adventure is as plain as it comes in plot and characters, so doesn’t really get the “new” era off to a flying start, but hey-ho. Let’s take a look!

The time has come once again to look at another “story arc” in the web series Super Dragon Ball Heroes, which as a reminder exists purely to promote the Super Dragon Ball Heroes arcade game and its collectable cards. Why do I bother? I don’t know, there’s some fun to be had wondering what Dragon Ball character is going to be randomly appearing next but other than that (and the fact I started so I feel compelled to continue) I have no idea why I put myself through it… Oh well, let’s take a look!

In my original look at Resident Evil 4 (viewable HERE!) I said that while it was undeniably a great game me at the time didn’t like the weird un-Resi story and all the QTE cutscenes, but either way it was still fun to play. So when RE4 Remake was confirmed I was confused and a little annoyed as Code: Veronica is actually in need of an update unlike 4, but I will say that this Remake is right up there with the RE2 remake as like that it keeps most things the same but updates it (like removing the outdated QTEs!) and looks gorgeous to boot. So let’s take a deeper look!

As a big fan of the first Jedi game, Fallen Order (Review HERE!) who’s really looking forward to the sequel in Survivor I was also looking forward to this book, set in between the two games. I thought it would be a fun side quest that might even has a small ripple effect on the next game (key word small, I wasn’t expecting people who play the games having to have read a novel to understand the next game or anything) Sadly it ended up as one of the worst books I’ve read in some time and not only does it have little to no effect on Survivor but the characterisation is off in the book so it barely feels like its part of the same canon. Oh well! Can’t win them all, let’s take a look so I can then forget about it.

The Shades of Fear set comes to an end with a double whammy of the returning Vashta Nerada and the Vermeen from the start of the set, opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of name value but it oddly works really well. Plus a few actually interesting guest characters and a great use of the audio medium all come together to make one of the better Ninth Doctor stories to come along in a while. Let’s take a deeper look…

The final set of Ninth Doctor Adventures Series 2 has arrived (though frankly I should probably just start counting them as individual sets at this point, Mr. Eccleston seems to be fully invested now!) and it comes in form of “Shades of Fear”, and while there isn’t a two-part finale like last time the opening story of this box and its final episode are strongly connected… Oh and the one in the middle is a bit crap. Let’s take a look!

The second season of the Bad Batch follows a very similar formula to the other CG Star Wars cartoons in that there are some amazing standout episodes that fans of any age should go out of their way to watch mixed in with some classic cartoon side-steps aimed younger (though never to the point of at least still being fun for all ages, so long as you don’t take yourself too seriously) The story of how the Clones become phased out and why is really well told here as the series continues to explore that rarely seen “just after Episode III” time period. So let’s take a look already!
