This is a strange boxset. It sees the Seventh Doctor come across Harry Sullivan and a female UNIT member called Naomi Cross in the near-present day because the Fourth Doctor dropped them off in the wrong time. What makes this weird is that story hasn’t been released yet due to the nature of how far in advance Tom Baker’s stories are so this is picking up from a cliffhanger we’ve yet to hear! Thankfully a conversation between the two catch us up pretty quick anyway. As for the story itself? A bit too fantasy for my liking, something that’s becoming something of a theme for Big Finish Who releases recently… Let’s take a look!

The Second “holiday themed” TV special for the MCU and this time it’s a good old fashioned Christmas Special with the Guardians of the Galaxy. Admittedly while “Werewolf by Night” was a good standalone special this feels like a very light bit of humour more in the line of an extra or bonus feature. Still, tis the season to be mildly amused! Let’s take a look… Not that it’ll take long!
Continue readingDoctor Who: Hidden Depths – Flatpack Review
Flatpack is a weird story because it has the Ninth Doctor encounter some old companions but in this case its Liv and Tania from the Eighth Doctor audio range, a situation where we know Liv left The Doctor to live with Tania but also had adventures before then that are still being released. That makes this feel less like The Doctor meeting old companions and more like some sort of crossover. Still though, key question: is it good? The answer is yes! While I had some problems with it the two returning companions worked really well with Christopher Eccleston, so let’s take a look.
Continue readingDoctor Who: Hidden Depths – The Seas of Titan & Lay Down Your Arms Review
So after heading to Earth and then Outer Space, what could The Doctor possibly do next in this third box in the Ninth Doctor’s second “season”? Well… a mix of both, in other words like all Doctor Who seasons. Anyway, enough of making fun of the boxset naming this was a fun double bill but neither story particularly stood out as memorable, which is a shame because its always nice to “see” the Sea Devils pop up… Let’s take a look!
Continue readingDragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai (Episodes 85 – 100) Review
At long last, after well over a hundred weeks, Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai has finally come to an end. It’s been a … ride, maybe not a wild one, but definitely one! While this finale is fun and exciting with a great and extremely Shonen-y final battle I have to say that its not worth watching the other 90 odd episodes full of the same plot being slowly stretched thin until it snaps several times. Still, now I’ve stuck with it for pretty much the sole reason of writing about it on this blog, let’s write about it on this blog!
Continue readingMario Kart: Super Circuit (GBA) Review
Super Circuit sits in a strange place in my Mario Kart history in that I played it at launch (ish) and played it a fair amount, but its difficulty curve and me not really being a big handheld guy meant I didn’t really get into it the same way as other entries in the series (beyond 3DS and Tour, which I just haven’t played at all) Going back to it now has only made the challenge even more, well, challenging, despite having a full screen and comfortable controller in my hand. Much like when I played Super Mario Kart for this blog the old style controls are just so… counter intuitive after so many years of the newer style back-to-back. Oh well, it’s another Booster Pass course drop today, so let’s look at another Mario Kart game!
Continue readingBleach: Lost Agent Arc (Episodes 355 – 366) Review
It’s time to look at what a year or so ago would’ve been the “final episodes of the Bleach anime” but is now the final episodes of the first Bleach series before the currently airing Thousand Year Blood War series. As I mentioned in the first half I do enjoy the sometimes-called Fullbringer arc and honestly the final few episodes really outdo themselves, clearly showing that due to having a finite end they removed all filler and just straight up adapted the manga, and in terms of the final fight, really beautifully (though it pales in comparison to, once again, the currently airing TYBW anime…) So let’s take a look then!

You can catch up with my Season 11 reviews by clicking HERE for Part 1 and HERE for Part 2.
Here we go then, the final ever episodes of The Walking Dead… at least that’s what I should be saying but there are so many spin-offs announced as in the works that it honestly doesn’t feel like a big deal. I guess these are the final episodes loosely based on the comics, and I stress loosely ever since Carl and Rick left the show, which is something. Well either way I am happy to say these episodes were at least really good, far better a note for the show to go out on than it deserves, frankly. Let’s take a look…

Another one of those sadly-becoming-rarer Anime UK News reviews! This time its the early 2000s weird steampunk version of Seven Samurai created by Gonzo. You can read the review by clicking HERE. Fun but ultimately I can’t see it being very memorable.
Doctor Who: What Lies Inside? – The Dalby Spook Review
The most interesting thing about “The Dalby Spook” is finding out that it’s based on an actual thing! Apparently on the Isle of Man in the 30s there was a hot rumour of a talking mongoose called Gef that attracted paranormal specialists and skeptics like Harry Price to debunk it. How bizarre! What’s that? The story? … It’s alright. After “Paradox of the Daleks” it was certainly more straight forward and low key, that’s for sure! Let’s take a look…
