What is it with slightly delayed reviews of final season’s second of three parts this week? Yes, Walking Dead as a TV series is coming to an end (well, the main series is, plenty of spin-offs in the works…) but we’re only two thirds of the way through its finale. So does this all lead into an unmissable final part? Meh, not really. Let’s take a look!

Still trying to play catch-up with all the Big Finish releases since I took my break, and with a LOT coming out in June, I thought I’d double up some reviews in their paired boxsets just to “get them out of the way” without going too long without some variety of reviews going up.
While I really enjoyed Blood of the Time Lords sadly The Ravencliff Witch was quite the opposite, it was rather dull and predictable and the debut of future new companion Margaret was not well done (it’s very clear she wasn’t planned to be a recurring character at this point!) Throw in a really hard-on-the-eyes cover and it’s not a great outing for the Fourth Doctor, but let’s take a closer look anyway!
Continue readingDoctor Who: Blood of the Time Lords Review
The Fourth Doctor Adventures for this year are set while The Doctor is travelling alone, which is a rare setting for this particular incarnation, and the first story is a really strong outing set entirely in a library on a moon of Gallifrey, which is also a unique and very fun setting but sadly it also features the cancelled-due-to-being-a-twat James Dreyfus incarnation of the Master… Oh well, let’s take a look!
Continue readingAttack on Titan – The Final Season (Episodes 76 – 87) Review
Attack on Titan’s final sea- … oh, right, the second half of Attack on Titan’s final sea- … Oh, okay then. The second third of the Attack on Titan’s final season was full of fun plot twists and really delved deep into the lore of the series, so much so that despite me poking fun at the “Final Season” now being three seasons long I’m happy they didn’t have to rush anything. So after a delay of a month or so let’s finally get a review up!
Continue readingDoctor Who: Back to Earth – Auld Lang Syne Review
The final part of Back to Earth, Auld Lang Syne, is one of those stories that came out of nowhere to really blow me away. It’s so well written and acted, and has a plenty of twists and turns, too. Let’s take a closer look!
Continue readingGrand Theft Auto: Vice City (PS2) / Grand Theft Auto: Vice City – Definitive Edition (PS4) Review
Continuing my nostalgic tour through my late teens with the PS2 era GTA games as well as playing through the recently released “Definitive Editions”, it’s time for Vice City! Steeped in 80s culture and films (especially Scarface…) Vice City also saw several firsts for the franchise, including a fully voiced main protagonist! Let’s take a look at both versions and see how they either stand up today, or if they’re actually any good to begin with…
Continue readingDoctor Who: Back to Earth – Station to Station & The False Dimitry Review
Ignoring the obvious joke about having a boxset titled “Back to Earth” when most of the Ninth Doctor’s audio run so far has been entirely set ON Earth (including the previous two-part finale) let’s take a look at the first two stories of Mr. Eccleston’s second audio drama run, shall we?
Continue readingDragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai (Episodes 51 – 67) Review
I was going to open with a joke about it being nearly time to review another load of episodes (because yes, the series is somehow still going strong…) but thanks to a certain Toei Animation hacking incident the show went off the air for a month, so this review actually isn’t that far behind despite the delay of finishing it on my end. So, Adventure of Dai, eh? Yes, I really want to put “looks like its entered its final arc” but I’ve made that mistake before, so let’s just say “thinks have picked up” and leave it at that…
Continue readingDoctor Who: Mind of the Hodiac Review
Mind of the Hodiac is an interesting curio, it’s not a “Lost Story” in any way that the sub series has explored before, instead it’s a piece of fan fiction that Russell T. Davies wrote as a teenager that he found in a drawer. Admittedly given RTD’s contributions to Doctor Who having what is essentially his first script turned into a story is a fun idea, but it’s still not exactly fitting in with the Lost Stories theme. Still, is it any good? Well erm… not really? Let’s take a look!
Continue readingThe Walking Dead – Vol. 7 & 8: “The Calm Before” and “Made to Suffer” Review
(Note: This was written a few months ago so it’s still in the old review format. Oh well, at least all of Omnibus 1 will match!) Never before has a title rang quite as true as Volume 7 “The Calm Before” because, yeah… Volume 8 is a hell of a thing, that’s for sure. It’s no wonder the comic fans at the time were so upset with how the finale of the Prison story arc was handled at the end of Season 3, and even when they tried to recoup it in 4. It’s nothing like the shocking sudden onslaught that happens here… So let’s take a look!
