Gundam 00 kicks off its second season with some fun revelations and scene-setting but also one of the worst cases of backtracking I’ve seen in any media that even though I knew it was coming it still made me shake my head. Thankfully once you get past that bit the series is once again really fun, with great character and mech designs, though the enemies are a bit more clear-cut this time, making for less political intrigue. Let’s take a look!

Doctor Who: The War Master – Rogue Encounters Review
The latest War Master set continues the trend of stand-alone stories that vary greatly in quality and normally fall into one or two categories of “The War Master acts nice but is actually evil” or “The War Master fights an evil more evil than himself”, but I will give Rogue Encounters some praise for being a bit more outside of the box with one or two of the stories. Let’s take a look!
Continue readingPersona 5 Tactica (PS5) Review
Frankly given how much I love the Persona 5 story, characters, and general vibe with the presentation and music as soon as this was announced I knew I’d be getting it day 1, even though I’m not a big fan of the art style they went with and I’ve never really played a Tactics RPG before (beyond X-COM, I guess?) and while I wasn’t as into it as I hoped I’d be I still enjoyed my time with the game. I think I was most disappointed with the storyline, which was weak compared to even fellow spin-off Persona 5 Strikers, and at the lack of challenge the game gave me. There were plus points though, so let’s take a deeper look!
Continue readingDoctor Who: Audacity – The Great Cyber-War Review
The second half of the Audacity set is, as the title plainly points out, set during the “Great Cyber-War” that was all the talk during the Fourth Doctor’s only TV encounter with the Cybermen. In fact this is a prequel to that story, showing how the war came to an end and even explains some of sillier aspects of the Cybermen from that period away in a fittingly silly way, all leading to an unexpected reveal at the end of the story that flies in the face of this “new era” being advertised, but I was happy though! Let’s take a look.
Continue readingLoki – Season 2 Review
A month and a bit late on this review, but hey-ho, I’ve been later with bigger shows! Loki Season 2 is a hard one to get my head around because as it was airing there wasn’t a week where I felt excited to watch the next episode, and in fact several weeks I watched the episode a few days after it “aired” whereas the other MCU / Star Wars Disney + shows I watched the night of the day they’re uploaded, with the only other exception being the recent MCU show Secret Invasion, so… that’s not a good sign for MCU TV projects… Anyway, on the other hand it had some really fun performances and a great end sequence, so it’s not really that bad, I just never felt invested in it… Let’s see if I can actually pull these random thoughts into a coherent review, shall we?
Continue readingDoctor Who: Audacity – The Devouring Review
Now the 60th Anniversary stuff is out of the way it’s time to catch up with the Big Finish audio releases, and thankfully there isn’t actually that much to catch up on! “Audacity” was advertised as a fresh start for the Eighth Doctor, back in his younger velvet coat days with a new companion, and while this is true only until the end of the last episode of the set I can say that “The Devouring” is still a fun companion introduction story, if nothing else. Let’s take a look!
Continue readingOne Piece – Wano Arc (Episodes 1068 – 1085) Review
It’s time for the seventh and would you believe final One Piece Wano Arc review! It’s been quite the journey, with the first Wano arc review going up back in 2020, but it’s time to finally see Kaidou get defeated and the long, LONG suffering Samurai to finally have their classic post-arc banquet. So let’s take a look!
Continue readingDoctor Who: The Giggle Review
Well… that was certainly a thing! “The Giggle” is the last of the three 60th Anniversary specials and acts as the Fourteenth Doctor’s regeneration story… sort of? It’s hard to get into that bit until the spoilers section (it being partially featured on the next time trailer at least means mentioning it isn’t spoilery!) but even beyond that it was a pretty bonkers story from start to finish, so let’s take a look!
Continue readingDoctor Who: Wild Blue Yonder Review
I didn’t know what to expect going into “Wild Blue Yonder” because so few details on it were available beforehand, but what I got was actually a good old fashioned claustrophobic sci-fi story with a really fun “conceptual” enemy and some weird visuals… so I was very happy indeed! It feels like ages since I watched a new Doctor Who story that was just a stand-alone good sci-fi story, so let’s take a deeper look.
Continue readingMario Kart Wii Review
A week or two late but hey-ho, that’s a favourite show’s 60th anniversary for you, it’s time for the next and final older Mario Kart review to coincide with a MK8 Booster Pass DLC release! Mario Kart Wii might be the Mario Kart I’ve played the most despite it being released while I was in my mid-20s and that’s because two different generations of nephews would come round and play on this with me for hours on end, one pair going for the all courses cup every time. So while I played this by myself or with friends less than the previous entries I may well have racked up more time in this one total! So let’s take a look and try our best to ignore the motion controls…
