The third of the four stories from “Mistress of Chaos” funnily enough features the Mobox, who made two major appearances in the past, both during the Eighth Doctor DWM run, the same run I’m currently covering on-and-off here at the moment! After Josiah Dogbolter’s daughter appearing in the first story it’s odd to see two examples of DWM bringing back their continuity so close together, given they normally just save it for big occasions. Is it any good, though? That’s the more relevant question!

Ghost of Tsushima (PS4) Review
Ghost of Tsushima was released back in July but I didn’t actually get it until I collected some money for my Birthday in late September. The extra two months wait only made me look forward to it more as the game racked up more and more praise from critics and fans alike. So did the much touted “last PS4 exclusive” impress me in a similar manor? Let’s find out!
Continue readingDoctor Who: Herald of Madness Review
The next story in the 13th Doctor’s DWM comic run comes to us in the form of the old pseudo historical setting, complete with one or two key figures of Earth history in an otherwise sci-fi plot, plus some very G.I. Joe/Action Force looking masked guys! Let’s take a closer look…
Continue readingThe King of Fighters: A New Beginning – Volume 2 Review
I reviewed the first volume of this Manga for Anime UK News (viewable HERE!) but then time passed and volumes released and that was that… until I brought Volume 2 on a whim, remembering how much I enjoyed the first one. Now too late to put a review up there (as Volume 3 has been out for a while…) I thought I’d continue the coverage here. Is a manga focused on a fighting game full of great, intricate storylines and characters? No… Is it full of stunning artwork and call backs to the game? Why yes, yes it is!
Continue readingCadillacs and Dinosaurs (Arcade) Review
Cadillacs and Dinosaurs is one of the few Arcade games I have very vivid memories of playing the actual Arcade game. A fair arrives in our town twice a year and with it a small portable Arcade with the same 10 or so machines, one of which was Cadillacs and Dinosaurs (and may well still be, I haven’t checked in several years…) It’s your classic CAPCOM scrolling beat ‘em up but set in the bizarre world of the short-lived cartoon of the same name. So let’s take a closer look!
Continue readingThe Sandman (Audio Drama Series) – Chapters 1-8 “Preludes and Nocturnes” Review
I wasn’t sure of the idea of an audio adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s “The Sandman”, the original comics/graphic novels were so vividly brought to life by the artwork that it almost seemed… pointless? But then I saw the voice cast and I thought I’d give it a go! Sure enough there are some great performances here, but there are also some missteps, especially if you’re used to the Big Finish style of Audio Drama like I am. It’s a long one, so I’ve decided to split it up into its three original collected volume titles to take a look… so let’s do just that!
Continue readingDoctor Who: The Warmonger Review
We’re due to resume our look at the Eighth Doctor DWM comics, but first there’s a new collected comics Graphic Novel release to cover in “Mistress of Chaos”, containing the first Thirteenth Doctor comics no less. “The Warmonger” kicks of this new era with an interesting concept and the return of a DWM villain, erm, sort of. So let’s take a look!
Continue readingWWF Royal Rumble (Dreamcast) Review
Those who have been following my blog for a while, specifically these reviews, you may notice a certain love for the Royal Rumble match which stems from the 1992 Royal Rumble being the match that turned me into a diehard fan of the pseudo-sport for life (though sadly, not of the core WWF/E product, as it turns out…) So you can imagine my excitement when a new game titled “Royal Rumble” was announced as coming to the Dreamcast and that it had up to NINE wrestlers in the ring at once, a record number that has yet to be beaten (outside of the hilariously broken MDickie games, anyway…) Sadly being an arcade port there isn’t a lot to the game… at all. Is it still worth a look, you ask? Well, let’s find out!
Continue readingBurn The Witch Review
I had no idea what to call this as it was an OVA film that was split into three episodes for the region I’m in, so do I call it “OVA 1”? “Series 1”? “The Complete First Season”? *shrugs* I’ll just call it “Burn The Witch” and worry about it whenever the next one comes out… So, Burn The Witch is a spin-off from Bleach (which coincidentally I’ll be covering a bit more in the coming weeks) focusing on what is eventually revealed as the “Western Branch” of Soul Society who deal with Dragons rather than Hollows. What’s it like? Let’s find out!
Continue readingDoctor Who: The War Master – Hearts of Darkness Review
As predicted, even though the original run of four stories formed a nice circular whole, the War Master range proved so popular that it returns not long after it last appeared. “Hearts of Darkness” is another hand-wavey encounter between the War Master and the Eighth Doctor (presumably set before their other encounter, which ends in a mind wipe) but it instead brings up an old sci-fi cliché with interesting results. Want actual detail? Read on!
