It’s time for our next animated missing story, and this time it’s another “all parts were previously missing” story. I remember watching the Fury From The Deep recon in parts a good while ago and thinking it was probably really good, but man there was a lot of talking, and when you’re just “watching” photo stills that can get old quick. It’s fitting that the first Eighth Doctor DWM comic story after the already-covered Endgame is one that features the Threshold, given it was finally reading Ground Zero that made me decide to cover them in between the Lost Stories. What I’d forgotten about though was the inclusion of The Daleks, who I’d only remembered appearing in these Eighth Doctor strips when they become colour. It’s time for the one and only Third Doctor lost story: The Mega. Told across six parts and featuring the full UNIT crew, the story could’ve been a lost classic for my favourite era of the show. Sadly it’s a good example of the occasional really dull and overly long stories you used to get in the era. It’s not a total lost cause or anything, but this could’ve stayed lost and I wouldn’t have been all that bothered…

If you asked me what my dream multi-Doctor story was, I’d always say “10th and 4th Doctors in a Two Doctors style crossover”. Well, earlier in the year this story was announced and I was thrilled! Finally something great came out of the currently not-at-all-great situation the world finds itself in as it allowed this apparently long-gestating story to finally be made due to Mr. Tennant’s TV schedule rather predictably being dramatically reduced. Back in the Main Range a few years ago there was a trilogy of stories where The Sixth Doctor met back up with an older Peri, the one that lived as a Queen alongside Brian Blessed (truly a fate worse than death…) This new plot thread was then dropped without a conclusion to the whole Peri thing… Until now! This “Doctor and Peri” set picks up that thread and, at least so far, gives us a continuation of the new “era”, even though I doubt it gives it any finality just yet. The first two stories are… rather by-the-numbers in two completely different settings, so let’s take a look!
