The Tenth Doctor Adventures Vol. 2 has landed in my… download tray, and so off we go with the first story in the set! The Doctor, Rose and Rose’s Mum Jackie star in an Earth invasion story, so they’ve got the “feeling like the period” bit right, that’s for sure! But what’s the actual story like? Well…
The Punisher’s middle is full of exciting action and a few twists, but most importantly it still focuses on its cast of broken characters and develops them so well. It’s amazing how the portrayal of one event, one period of time has changed so many people in so many different ways. It’s great story telling! Hooray! Let’s take a closer look at the 5th to 9th episodes!
Persona 4 – The Animation continues onward, and with the lead case and centrepiece of the story seemingly dealt with, everyone begins to refocus on being goofy teens again. Three of these eight episodes deal with something a bit serious, but in general this batch of episodes is all about goofy school hijinks and having a bit of a laugh. Does this makes-sense-given-the-game switch to school life comedy work in the anime series? Read on!
The latest entry into the Netflix side of the MCU has arrived in the form of The Punisher. What I love about both the comics world and this one is how many completely different stories can be told within it, and nothing has exemplified this more than having watched Spider-Man Homecoming a few days ago followed by watching this! So let’s take a look at the beginning of the Punisher’s solo outing, after a great start in the Daredevil Season 2…
Having to wait until I get paid at the end of next week to renew my monthly range subscription for another 12 releases means that this Early Adventure comes first! (that sentence is going to be pointless to anyone who reads this review via the tabs above later on…) Anyway, I wasn’t expecting much from The Morton Legacy, it didn’t sound very interesting and the trailer did nothing for it, and sure enough, there wasn’t much to it. Rather dull, overall… Or am I lying for literally no reason?! You must read on to find out!
Never got the chance to see this in the cinema, so I watched the blu-ray last night and can finally comment on it… or Review it even! Spider-Man – Homecoming is great film, the very definition of “fun”, plus it overcomes that classic MCU film problem and has a really good villain in it. So let’s take a closer look!
Continuing on from my watch of the Persona 3 movies, it’s time to watch the Persona 4 anime series. As I mentioned at the start of the P3 reviews I have experience with 3 and 5, but never did see any of 4 (beyond brief clips and an interest in the P4: Arena games, which sadly spoiled one of the lead antagonists of this series…) so this is my first time experiencing the story in any format. Now I’m sure that’s a shame as the game is undoubtedly more detailed and all that, but there you go, I don’t have 100+ hours to sink into a JRPG, sadly. Titan Comics does the Third Doctor with Heralds of Destruction, and boy do they ever do it justice! Rare for Titan Comics, this story has consistently great artwork and a story that while it has some strong continuity nods, still tells a really good tale. So let’s take a look at what will, sadly, be a very rare Third Doctor comic story!
The first season (or really the second half of the first season, if including the mini-series) of Battlestar Galactica’s reboot is a good mix of dreary reality and great sci-fi, as well as very hard to write about without giving spoilers for the series as a whole, which I’m trying to avoid… I’m also a bit late with this review due to the amount of new seasons or new shows entirely that have returned or debuted on TV since the start of October, but here we are anyway! Just don’t expect the first half of Season 2 until next year… Right, with that said, Season 1 then!
I actually watched this back in September, so it’s been existing as a few notes I took while watching for a while now. I was busy at work for most of that time, but I also think it’s a hard series to get motivated to review because it’s not … that good. But it’s also not so terrible that it will be fun to sarcastically tare apart, either. Hey ho, I wanted another Gundam series I never saw before done (and was in the mood as it was in the run up to the release of PS4 game Gundam Versus) so there we go. I had planned on watching the Universal Century stuff in order, but never mind… This is technically the “Regild Century” anyway, even if it is the same timeline! So let’s take a look already!
