Doctor Who: The Shadow of London Review

DW Shadow of London

The 7th series of Fourth Doctor Adventures kicks off its second half with The Shadow of London, and sadly it’s exactly as it seems by the synopsis: rather dull. It’s by no means bad, but it’s about as memorable as… that time… that thing happened. Still, let’s have a look at it anyway, if I don’t do it now I won’t remember enough to write the review later!

Mega Man (NES) Review

MM1

I played Mega Man on my brother’s NES when I was very young, so young that I sucked at it… really bad. I then played it as a teen and I was bad, but not awful. Now I brought the Mega Man Legacy Collection on my PS4 and guess what? I completed the game! Admittedly I used a single game state save before starting the Wily stages, but still! Very happy to get that monkey off my back, and now it’s time to give it a review! Why not?

Doctor Who: The Lure of the Nomad Review

DW Lure of the Nomad

The Lure of the Nomad is written by Matthew J. Elliot, the man who brought us Zaltys (hooray!) and the Silurian Candidate (Oh God no…), but which is this more like? Sadly, the answer is the latter. While it has some decent characters and ideas, they’re are either ruined by bad acting or ruined by a Part 4 that if it were visualised would literally be everyone standing around and telling their backstories to each other. Oh well, let’s have a closer look anyway…

Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ – Episodes 12 – 23 Review

Gundam ZZ P2

The second quarter of ZZ pulls back on the slapstick comedy a bit, but is still more often than not for laughs. It focuses on Judau’s sister Leina being kidnapped and replaces gag character Mashmyre with a gag character of equal stupidity in Chara Soon, as well as new Cyber-Newtype “Elpeo Ple”. It’s an odd cast, but the show can still be fun in parts, and rather dull or cringey in others. Let’s have a look and see how much of it is actually good!

The Diary of River Song: Series 1 – Signs & The Rulers of the Universe Review

DW DORS S1 P2

The second half of the first River Song series has a far more successful hit rate than the previous half, with the first episode having a good sense of mystery, and the second having fun interactions between River and the Eighth Doctor. While not perfect, it does end the series on a high, so let’s have a closer look!

The Diary of River Song: Series 1 – The Boundless Sea & I Went To A Marvellous Party Review

DW DORS S1 P1

This was on sale a while ago, and I finally have the spare money to pick up the odd spin-off series… that being said, it took a while for me to get around to listening to it, but here we are! The first two episodes of Diary of River Song start off seemingly very stand-alone, and although they turn out to be more connected than it first seems, they are fun mini-stories… Not amazing, but fun. Let’s take a closer look!

Doctor Who: Doctormania Review

DW Doctormania

I’ve now brought the last bunch of “Year Two” Titan Comics paperback releases, so let’s finish the frankly over-crowded year off, shall we? We start with the first of two volumes starring the Ninth Doctor and co., one where he encounters a rather fourth-wall-breaking show called “Doctor Who?” that’s all about him… Do they pull this rather on-the-nose story off? Did they bring back the Slitheen without doing any fart gags? Read on to find out!

Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ – Episodes 1 – 11 Review

Gundam ZZ P1

It’s time to take that tentative step into the world of Gundam ZZ (pronounced “Double Zeta”, for the record!), a show wildly inconsistent in its tone, though sadly for this first chunk of episodes, the tone is actually consistent…ly bad. I don’t mind a more light-hearted approach, but I do mind it when it’s not done very well! So let’s resume our look at the Universal Century timeline of Gundam by taking at look at ZZ’s first eleven episodes…
