State of Emergency was one of those game I hadn’t heard anything about until it was suddenly on shelves, and the mix of scrolling beat ‘em up-like action, loads of people on screen and the Rockstar logo on the front meant I brought it immediately. While parts of the game might be hitting home a little too much right now (but I’m sure as hell not changing the Scrolling Sundays order right near the end!) it’s still a good laugh, but at only four levels, how long can it hold your attention, both then and now? I was interested in The Adventures of Dai for two reasons: I enjoyed playing as Dai in the unfortunate game known as Jump Force, and secondly I always enjoy seeing smoothly animated Toriyama characters powering up and overcoming evil with some sort of special attack. We quickly make a detour from the travels of The Doctor and Izzy as the next story in this run is “Unnatural Born Killers”, but in order to understand THAT story we have to look at two far older backup strips called “Throwback: The Soul of a Cyberman” and “Ship of Fools” (thankfully included in this graphic novel!) as all three stories tell the tale of Kroton the Cyberman, a member of the Cyber Race who regains his humanity and searches for friends and meaning, his original memories lost. Now the Dragon Ball Super anime has stopped airing it has been through the Manga that we have followed the further Toriyama-penned (though not drawn) antics of Goku and co. The latest arc has come to a close, focusing on a powerful magic-user from 10 million years ago returning named Moro, so I thought I’d have a look at it! I would review manga volumes, but this arc awkwardly starts halfway through Volume 10 and I’m NOT reviewing the Universe Survival arc for a third time any time soon, so I thought it would be easier to just count the Chapters instead, especially as I’m following the monthly chapters anyway… So let’s take a look!

We return to the Eighth Doctor DWM comic strips for a run that will cap-off the black and white comic era, and do so with a bang! First we get a story that is most infamous for bringing Dr. Grace Holloway back from the TV Movie, something most entities, including the likes of Big Finish, haven’t been able to do (due to the character’s mixed ownership). I was very excited to buy my copy of Dynamite Cop. As previously mentioned I had wanted to buy Die Hard Arcade but lacked the Sega Saturn I needed, so to hear a (no longer licensed) sequel was released on the Dreamcast I was there as soon as I could. In the end it was legitimately fun, especially with a friend… for the first few playthroughs anyway. What about now? Well…

I was planning of having bigger chunks of this One Piece arc, but episode 956 ended on such a definitive note that it seemed too perfect not to use! So the Wano arc continued on, focusing mostly on Luffy’s struggles in a labour camp, though it did at least feature some other characters and locations, so it wasn’t all bad. Let’s take a look at “Wano Arc – Act II”! (or the part of it left from the previous review chunk…)

Sleeping Dogs was a great game roughly 10 years ago, something I was reminded of when I did my “Games of the Decade” list. When Cyberpunk got delayed to right before Christmas I passed on it for now (and as it turns out I dodged a bullet there…) so I didn’t have a new game to play in late November and up to the holiday, so I looked through my digital collection of mostly Playstation Plus games I’ll never play but I added to my library “just in case” and saw this sitting there. It was under £5 at some point and I brought it for the hell of it, and combined with it still being on my mind I decided to play through it again, plus play the DLC for the first time. So what’s it like in 2020, and given there is very little difference, what was it like back then? Let’s find out! (note that all pictures are from the PS4 version as I can actually get screens from that console…)
