The Twelfth Doctor and Bill go on their first journey in the TARDIS and arrive in a future colony… and the proceed to have a friendly chat… for 40 minutes. Then it ends. More details, you say? Okay!

The 10th Series since the revival (36th overall!) begins with “The Pilot”, which is a reference that this is the first outing for new companion Bill Potts and therefore like the first episode ever but also haphazardly written into the episode’s narrative so it makes sense as the opener to a 36th season as well… Let’s take a look!

Volume Three of the Phillip Hinchcliffe Presents series of audio dramas is now in the books, a range that has varied greatly in quality. I can say safely that this falls somewhere in the middle… want more detail? Click below!

Time to take our first visual dip into long scarves and jelly babies territory as I look at “The Face of Evil” in my random “haven’t seen them in a while” marathon. A new companion is introduced and Tom Baker is The Doctor, part of the villain and carved into a mountain… Not bad going for one story!

Continuing my Doctor Who stories I haven’t seen in ages thingy, it’s The Green Death! It’s classic Pertwee, six parts, UNIT personnel all over the place, people in bell-bottom trousers worrying about pollution… well, maybe that’s more early 70s than just Pertwee era Who…

After all these years, a multi-Master story finally happens! Geoffrey Beevers’ melty-faced Master meets Alex Macqueen’s sarcastic baldy Master, with the Seventh Doctor caught in the middle. Sounds good to me!

Drax? That cockney Time Lord from the boring Armageddon Factor? Why would I want to listen to a new story with him? Well, as it turns out, there was a very fun story to tell with the forgotten character…

Well, if you had to pick a Patrick Troughton / Second Doctor story to start with, you can’t get more predictable than this! Seriously, if I knew these stories would be on my blog first, I would have picked something less obvious. Still, I would have got to it eventually, so… off we go!

Before deciding to do this blog I started a mini-marathon of one story for each Doctor, with each story being one I hadn’t seen / heard in ages. Seems like a good way to start filling out the “coming soon…” bits of the blog! For the First Doctor I chose this famous story, the second ever Dalek story and the first to show aliens of any kind invading Earth (even if it was a future version of it). How does it hold up (not including special effects, for obvious reasons…) ?
