Capcom vs. SNK 2 (PS2) Review

CvsSNK2

While I was looking across the review sections of this blog that have “Coming Soon!” in them, I was surprised to see I haven’t reviewed a PS2 title yet. I guess that comes from most of the big PS2 games I own being parts of series I want to cover from the first entry onwards… ANYWAY, I thought I’d stick a review of probably my favourite fighting game of all time up and fix that black space with ease. Capcom vs. SNK 2 is frankly brilliant, its mechanics, looks, menu presentation, roster, modes… just everything. Perfection. Let’s take a look!

The Gifted – Season 2 Overall Review

The Gifted S2

Well, I’m tackling the endless parade of US comic adaptation TV shows at a slower pace this year, but I’m happy I still gave Gifted a second go-round, as it was once again a fun show. While not without its faults, at least all the establishing of setting and lead characters was out of the way, and we got a good central antagonist and a bit of a twisty plot. Let’s have a closer look…

Doctor Who: Ravenous 3 – L.E.G.E.N.D. and The Odds Against Review

DW Ravenous 3 P2

The second half of Ravenous 3 sadly fails to keep up the momentum of its first two episodes, and while neither story were bad, both were lacking in forward momentum and instead felt like two episodes of running on the spot. Still, some good times to be had, and it certainly seems like it’s going to lead to a big conclusion! Let’s take a look.

Doctor Who: Ravenous 3 – Deeptime Frontier & Companion Piece Review

DW Ravenous 3 P1

“Deeptime Frontier” picks up right from the end of Ravenous 2, with The Doctor and co. in immediate danger from the titular threat, but the highlight of this double bill has to be “Companion Piece”, which decides to step away from the core storyline almost entirely and have a bit of a celebration of the Eighth Doctor’s audio history by bringing back a bunch of past companions for a one-off (or a companion piece to the core storyline, if you will!) It made for a fun start to the set, so let’s take a look!

Doctor Who: Hotel Historia & Thinktwice Review

DW Hotel Historia Thinktwice

The Comic/Audio Companion Debut Marathon enters the “NuWho” era of Doctor Who (and sadly, but not unexpectedly, skips the Ninth Doctor…) as we get the one and only Tenth Doctor comic companion from Doctor Who Magazine, though the first of three comic companions for Tennant’s incarnation of the Time Lord… So let’s have a look!

Arrival (2016) Review

Arrival

When I started this “10 Decades” marathon, I did it thinking about giving me a good excuse to finally watch Arrival, which I’d been meaning to get around to since it came out. Well, it added an extra bunch of months compared to if I’d just sat down and watched it, but it’s been a fun ride, and I’m happy to report, it was worth it. Arrival was great! Let’s see why…

The Walking Dead – Season 9 Part 2 Review

TWD S9 P2

(My review of the first half of the season can be found by clicking HERE)

How does The Walking Dead function without Rick Grimes? Well, not too badly, as it turns out. While the series certainly feels like its missing a central character to focus on, there are enough interesting characters and plot left that when combined with an interesting new enemy to face, it’s led to a good few episodes of TV. Not perfect by any means, but good. Let’s take a closer look.

Doctor Who: The Star Beast (Audio Version) Review

DW Star Beast

Well, this is odd! Only a few months ago I wrote a review for the original comic version of this story as part of the Audio/Comic Companion Debut Marathon, and now here I am reviewing the audio adaptation! Well, some of this review, particularly the look at the story itself, are copied and pasted from that, but with some extra thoughts on the audio side of things, obviously. So let’s once again take a look at “and the Star Beast”, or just “The Star Beast” for simplicities sake…

Mobile Suit Gundam: MS IGLOO 2 – The Gravity Front Review

Gundam MS IGLOO 2

Here we go then, let’s get this out of the w- … hang on, this is really good?! The first of the three episodes was actually great?! Well blow me down, this MS IGLOO OVA series is actually worth watching. I don’t know if it was worth sitting through the other two OVAs to get to it, but at least I feel I got something good out of the whole thing. Want to know more? Read on!

WCW vs. The World (PS1) Review

WCW vs The World

Here we are, the next entry of the Wrestling Game Rundown and it’s the game I mentioned in the previous entry as a game I was looking forward to, but a long delay led to much anger and impatience. Was it worth the wait, and what’s it like now? Let’s find out in what is the first of the later Godly AKI games, even if it’s very barebones, comparatively…
