Several months late to the party on this one but for whatever reason I kept falling out of this season of the show and taking long breaks before I felt like continuing it. It’s a shame because I do like how they use several of the more obscure characters from the latter end of the MCU in the show but the stories themselves are often a bit.. meh. They become less “What If?” and more “Here are some characters in a zany adventure”, which is fine but not really why I liked the other two seasons. Well, either way, let’s finally take a look so I’m once again caught up on the MCU reviews!

Phantasy Star Online: Episodes I & II (GameCube) Review
Ten years ago today I posted my first review ever as I kicked off the blog that would become this site. It was of “Last Battle” one of my least favourite games ever (which you can still look at by clicking here!) So I thought to celebrate ten years I’d do the opposite and review one of my favourite games ever, which given I’ve reviewed a lot of those already it was initially hard until me and my friend started replaying Phantasy Star Online Episodes I & II for the GameCube and I remembered why I’d sunk well over 100 hours into it back in the day. Sadly I can’t capture original hardware so I can’t show you my Level 60+ Hunter character but oh well, this new run via an emulator has been plenty fun as well. So let’s take a look at what will probably be the only online multiplayer RPG to appear on this site (as I played it exclusively offline single player/split-screen multiplayer…)
Continue readingDoctor Who and the Brain Drain Review
I will always look forward to more Season 7 content, it remains one of my all-time favourite seasons full stop, so I was really looking forward to “and the Brain Drain”, which I guess is a callback to “and the Silurians” though that title was always an annoying one-off rather than something that should be copied (but let’s not get into the “Doctor Who/ The Doctor” debate!) Sadly Brain Drain took an interesting concept for a one hour story, maybe a four parter at best, and then had to stretch it out for seven parts, causing it to fall to pieces. Don’t get me wrong, a lot of the Season 7 seven part stories can drag but they at least often have alien threats to give some fun cliffhangers! Ah well, let’s take a closer look.
Continue readingDragon Ball Z – Saiyan Arc (Episodes 11 – 20) Review
It’s time for ten straight episodes of almost entirely filler as the Saiyan Arc grounds to a stop for “not catching up to the source material” reasons, something that actually stops for the most part after this, adopting the “making each episode agonisingly slow” method instead. Having said that I have strong and very happy memories of watching some of these episodes on TV when they first aired (two episodes a day, it has to be said, and some of these filler stories were cut entirely) so I don’t mind some of these stories purely with nostalgia goggles on. Let’s take a look!
Continue readingDoctor Who: Faithful Friends – Five Hundred Ways To Leave Your Lover Review
Classic Doctors, New Monsters: Faithful Friends comes to a close with the Eighth Doctor encountering the otherwise nameless Monks that the Twelfth Doctor faced off with in a rather disappointing three parter during what was otherwise his finest season. When one of these stories comes around you know it will be taking a “new monster” and either doing a retread of their TV appearance or doing something interesting with the species, and given I didn’t massively like their TV appearance I was hoping for the latter, but instead I got the former. Still, does the addition of the Eighth Doctor in a romantic relationship make it better? Let’s find out!
Continue readingWarriors Abyss (PS5) Review
Well this was a surprise, literally as it was suddenly revealed and shadow dropped last month! I was expecting the first and only new Warriors review to go up on this blog to be Dynasty Warriors Origins but as that still hasn’t dropped to a price I’m comfortable with I’m happy to get this rather addictive Roguelike with nostalgic characters (i.e. reused models) from the peak of both the Dynasty and Samurai Warriors series instead. Is it perfect? No, but it’s relatively cheap (so long as you’re not interested in vastly over priced costumes!) and really fun. Let’s take a closer look, as the game has understandably gone under the radar I feel this is one of the few reviews that might actually matter in the long run!
Continue readingDoctor Who: The Krillitane Feint / The Krillitane Relic Review
The latest Classic Doctors, New Monsters set has once again created a two-parter but split the parts across two different eras of the Doctor, in this case the Second and Seventh, so in order to cover the story as a whole I’m linking them together with the Seventh Doctor template, but Part 1 is still all Troughton, so to speak. The Krillitane are an interesting concept in that that keep adapting themselves all the time, stealing things from other species in packs, so no Krillitane grouping is ever the same, visually or power-set-wise, so it’s nice to see them appear here (even if the visual on the cover has them looking exactly the same as their TV appearance, but I can forgive that as it’s kind of the point of the set…) Let’s take a look!
Continue readingDragon Ball DAIMA – Episodes 13 – 20 Review
My review of the first 12 episodes can be found by clicking HERE.
Quick dive back into currently-airing anime but sticking with Dragon Ball, the latter half (ish) of Dragon Ball DAIMA has now aired and its time to look at how the series ended. It’s a very odd one honestly and it sets up something of a new continuity going forward rather than sliding in between Z and Super. It also has some extremely lazy writing and some very odd plot thread drops that makes me think that maybe Toriyama didn’t finish his draft for the finale before he passed… Well, either way, let’s take a deeper look.
Continue readingDoctor Who: Faithful Friends – The Dying Breed Review
It’s time for another “Classic Doctors, New Monsters” set and for the first time we get a Thirteenth Doctor era “monster” to meet a classic Doctor in the Lupari, the dog-like warriors from the um, not-that-great Flux series. The issue here is that a lot of what make them at least a little unique is the fact that they look like dogs so on audio all this story really feels like is a really basic “combat-obsessed medieval society” story with one gag that sees the bipedal and human-sized dog-people somehow believe K9 is one of them, but even that gets old quick. Well… anyway, let’s take a look!
Continue readingStar Wars: The High Republic – Tempest Breaker Review
“Tempest Breaker” is the latest addition to the High Republic era of Star Wars and weirdly despite being a full cast audio drama it’s actually a direct continuation of the Marvel High Republic comic series, and I mean direct continuation! After a recap we pick up where the previously released issue ended and we follow the characters from the comics (plus a couple of over-arching High Republic characters) through some pretty important scenes in the overall plot. I mean I loved it, it’s no secret I love sci-fi audio dramas and whoever cast the actors here nailed every single one, but I imagine if you’re not a fan of the genre you might be a little peeved, especially if you’re a big fan of the comics. Anyway, let’s take a look!
