“A New Beginning” once again leans heavily of prior King of Fighters lore as the NESTS arc from KOF 99-01 is pretty much given a sequel here and all connections to KOF XIV is nearly dropped, if it weren’t for Team South America’s presence. Is this a bad thing? Not for me, it was the NESTS arc that drew me into the series proper, but for a manga titled “A New Beginning”? Probably, yeah… Let’s take a look anyway!

Doctor Who: Dalek Universe 2 – Cycle of Destruction & The Trojan Dalek Review
The first Dalek Universe set was a big hit for myself and many others so Box 2 had a lot to live up to. Thankfully these first two episodes continue both a fun plot and the great cast and throw in a few twists for good measure. Let’s look at the first two thirds of the boxset then, shall we?
Continue readingBlog Update
Hi all,
So yesterday was my Mum’s funeral, and while I’m not back to my old self just yet I do feel a lot better this morning. I’m hoping my reviewing mojo will return soon and certainly there are a few reviews that were half done before my life momentarily crumbled I should be able to finish.
Basically I just wanted to say that I’m on the way back up, just so my last post doesn’t hang around at the top of the blog any more…
See you all soon!
Temporary Blog Hault…
Hi everyone,
Due to my Mum’s sudden passing on Wednesday I’ll be temporarily stopping this blog until I can get back in the funny and enthusiastic review mood, whenever that’ll be.
Thanks for any kind thoughts and I’ll hopefully see you soon!
Bleach: Arrancar Arc (Episodes 266 – 278) Review
After it got teased all the way back at the start of the arc (which seems like months ago now… probably because it was!) we finally see the big fight between Ichigo and Ulquiorra, plus the other top three Espada show their powers and forms, making this chunk of episode a gold mine of very cool Tite Kubo imagery. What’s that? Story? Animation? Oh right! Let’s take a look and see if they hold up as well…
Continue readingSuper Robot Wars T (PS4) Review
Another mid-year Super Robot Wars review! Yes, after V and X we now have T, and while I was slightly disappointed by this game’s easier difficulty I was thrilled with the inclusion of Cowboy Bebop! Let’s take a closer look…
Continue readingDoctor Who: The Flood Review
We’ve made it to the end of the Eighth Doctor DWM Comic run, and indeed the end of this Lost Stories/Eighth Doctor double marathon itself. I always find The Flood most interesting because at one point it was to feature the Eighth Doctor’s regeneration, although plans were eventually dropped (and boy, would Big Finish’s catalogue ever look different it that wasn’t the case!) Anyway, after many big moments and dramatic finales, how does “The Flood” hold up as not just another finale, but THE finale? The answer is very simple: It not only holds up, it may be the best of the bunch…
Continue readingResident Evil: Infinite Darkness Review
Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness is a new four-part CG series set in the video game canon, much like the three CG movies released over the last decade and a bit. In fact given the four episodes run about an hour and a half total and were all released at the same time means this is in reality just a fourth CG movie… Is it good though? Well, within the confines of being a Resident Evil property? Let’s find out!
Continue readingBlack Widow Review
Yes I’m one of those crazy people who spent £20 to watch Black Widow at home (though to be fair to myself the cost of a ticket plus a bus to my nearest cinema and back is actually not far off that same amount…) What did I think of the first MCU movie in Phase 4, especially after we’ve had such great Phase 4 TV already? Well… it was fun. Not much else, but fun. Let’s take a deeper look!
Continue readingBleach: Arrancar Arc (Episodes 215 – 226) Review
The next phase of the Arrancar Arc decides to pause the main conflict and shine a light on the Lieutenants of Soul Society, giving them some focus and fodder to defeat before inevitably fading into the background (with the exception of one, anyway…) Is that a bad thing? No, not really. There are some popular characters receiving some forward momentum, which is never a bad thing when the cast is as large as Bleach’s. Let’s take a look!
