The Fifth Volume of the Third Doctor Adventures concludes, and now I’m more used to the new Brig I feel I can comment on this story easier, though I am happy to say that Sgt. Benton joins the cast in this story as well, not recast or anything, but it’s a nice addition that makes it feel all the more authentic. The Scream of Ghosts also features the return of something else as well, but that would be for the spoilers section…
The next part of catching up on streaming shows is Persona 5, which is at least relevant as I’ve covered the animated version of Personas 3 and 4 on this blog already. Persona 5 is a game I actually went through from start to finish, so seeing the animated version was fun in a different way to P4, especially the use of the game’s fantastic soundtrack. So let’s take a look at the series’ first half… or third, if you count the two TV specials, I guess!
The Third Doctor Adventures returns, and has further evolved! Starting off as a mostly narrated affair, we eventually got Tim Trelor’s Third Doctor in a full cast environment, and now we have a perfectly recast Brigadier thanks to Jon Culshaw, and a good version of Liz Shaw from the original actresses own daughter. Adding in Jo Grant, who is thankfully still with us, and we’ve pretty much hit full cast Third Doctor stories! Primord, the first story of two, features both new recasts and is a really fun, if not rather basic, story that is also a direct sequel to TV classic Inferno… Let’s have a deeper look!
After completing Circle of the Moon it wasn’t too long before I made a start on its sequel, Harmony of Dissonance, dropping in and out of the game as I played other things. HoD is technically better than Circle in pretty much every way, with the exception of the background music… and possibly having too much content? Let’s have a deeper look and see if I can make my mind up!

It’s time to finish catching up (pretty much) with the Titan Comics releases by covering “Year 3”, starting with… a story that came out at the end of the run, but as it stars the Seventh Doctor I thought I’d read the stories in Doctor order, rather than release order. Operation Volcano shares a lot of similarities to the Third Doctor Titan story I raved about last year, especially with accurate drawings of the lead cast, but does the story hold up on its own? Well…
A few months ago Big Finish had a big sale on and during it I picked up the five Bernice Summerfield boxsets that take place after her 11 series run (that I won’t be picking up without downloads…) but before her New Adventures range (that I brought as they were released a few years ago), so I thought I’d finally get round to listening to them, now we’re currently in between non-currently-released Who marathons. Epoch kicks things off with… a mish-mash of genres and characters that doesn’t fully work, sadly… It’s not all bad though, so let’s press on with the review!
I’ve decided to go back on my original plan not to cover streaming shows due to the dire state of physical media anime releases here in the UK, so here’s the first of a few catch up reviews! The original Mob Psycho 100 is a show that took me by surprise, as apart from being from the same person who created One Punch Man, I didn’t know anything about it. Full of good humour, likeable characters and great animation, the series was a rightful hit, and I’m happy to say that its second series is just as good, if not better…
I actually had plans to review this game when I played through it in 2017, but I was focusing almost entirely on the non-gaming blog at the time (when they weren’t combined into one!) and ended up leaving it. Fast forward to today and I played through the quick “Episode Ardyn” DLC, the final piece of extra content for the game, and thought I’d make up for lost time. Happily I still had a bunch of screenshots saved! ANYWAY, Final Fantasy XV is a hard one to quickly sum up, it’s quite unlike any other game I’ve played, part open world RPG, part Japanese RPG, definite Final Fantasy looking character designs, but a very American looking world… It’s a bizarre blend, but one that surprisingly worked! Let’s take a closer look.
So the Audio / Comic Companion Debut Marathon comes to a close with the Eleventh Doctor’s Titan Comics companion Alice… plus John Jones and ARC, who last far less, but do travel with The Doctor, to be fair to them! Anyway, let’s have a look at “After Life”, which unlike the 10th Doctor stuff, is actually four short stories with connected themes, rather than all being multi-part affairs…
