Resident Evil: Degeneration Review

Resi Degen

Resident Evil Week continues after yesterday’s look at the first game in the series. Resident Evil Degeneration is the first in what is now a trilogy of CG films set within the computer game universe of Resident Evil, and it’s a wonky affair to watch in 2017. The CG and character movement have now dated to the point where it feels like it could have been pulled off on the previous generation console hardware… Is there anything redeeming in watching this now? Well…

Resident Evil (PS1) Review

Resi1

Kicking off Resident Evil week across my two blogs, we have, rather fittingly, the game that started it all in the first place. Slow tank controls, blurry / pixelated graphics and so-bad-it’s-funny voice acting, it’s safe to say this hasn’t aged well… especially when a superior remake exists! Doctor Who: The High Price of Parking Review

DW THPOP

Castlevania – Season 1 Overall Review

Castlevania S1

One of the weirder Netflix original shows to spring up, this animated series based on Castlevania (specifically Castlevania III) was an enjoyable watch, though it did suffer from needless gore and swearing in the first two episodes (reminded me of the old Manga Entertainment anime from the 90s, for those who know what I’m going on about…) the latter two were very entertaining. I don’t know if four 25-minute episodes can be called a season, but either way: let’s take a closer look!

Doctor Who: Dethras Review

DW Dethras

The sixth series of Fourth Doctor audio Adventures continues and reaches a rare high point. Dethras is an great story, uses its runtime perfectly and does a few new and / or interesting things among a generally good Doctor Who story. This is Adrian Poynton’s first story for Big Finish, and I certainly hope it’s not his last. Let’s take a closer look!

Doctor Who: The Silent Scream Review

DW The Silent Scream

The Doctor, Romana and K9 arrive in 20s Hollywood, with the transition between silent and “talkie” films in full effect. This story plays with the concepts well, but I can’t help but feel in a few weeks time I’ll have forgotten about it. It’s one of those Fourth Doctor Adventures stories that just isn’t very memorable. Not bad, not great, just… alright. Let’s take a closer look to see why…
