To celebrate the last part of my review of the Original Gundam series going up on the main review site, I thought I’d review the first Gundam game I ever played over here on Hogan Game Reviews. Dynasty Warriors: Gundam was not only the first Gundam game I played, but it introduced me to the world of Gundam outside of Wing and Seed, the only two series I’d seen at that point. Ignoring all that, though, what’s it like to play now?
The original Mobile Suit Gundam series comes to a close with this last batch of episodes. These 11 episodes show the series at its best and really give a good sense of pay off after 31 episodes of varying quality and wavering personalities. It goes full force with its more fantastical elements like Newtypes with psi powers and gives a satisfying end to the major plot points to tie the series up with a neat bow. Let’s take a deeper look…

The story is significant for two reasons: 1. it settles the mystery of Constance’s husband that has followed her around since her debut story, and 2. it sees the return of Flip, the Sixth Doctor’s earlier companion, who thankfully has been toned down a bit here…

Emperor of the Daleks is another continuity-fest from the early 90s pages of Doctor Who Magazine. Davros! Daleks! Abslom Daak! Two Doctors! Plus a whole chapter is colour! Let’s have a look at the six part story, plus the sort-of prequel “Up Above The Gods”, a single chapter story that fits in between chapters 1 and 2 of the story.
Doctor Who’s 10th (since the revival) series is drawing to a close, but before we begin the big finale we get one last stand alone adventure. This time it’s the old “pseudo historical”, with The Doctor and Bill seeking out the Roman Ninth Legion, who vanished without record. The pair of course find out that an interdimensional, light-eating creature is responsible… I mean, come on historians! It was obvious! Let’s take a look…
My subscription to the Main Range audio dramas from Big Finish ended just before Christmas, and its taken me this long to find the funds to re-subscribe. On the plus side, I now have a good eight or so new Doctor Who Audios to listen to! On the negative side: this story. Ah well. I’ve heard good things about the next one, so let’s just get this out of the way, shall we? It’s not terrible, just not terribly interesting…
Having finally picked up my copy of “Emperor of the Daleks”, the latest collection of Doctor Who Magazine comics, it’s time to start the third part of the trinity of Doctor Who media I enjoy. All these stories were released in 92 / 93, where Doctor Who had been off TV for some time and Virgin books’ “New Adventures” line was popular with a good chunk of remaining fans, meaning two things: loads of continuity references due to a lack of new fans, and the appearance of Bernice “Benny” Summerfield from the books as a companion. The first full cast Audio Drama series from Big Finish comes to a rather epic conclusion as Travis makes an appearance… alongside the President of the Earth Federation himself! These are three top quality stories, showing this Audio Series to be a fine example for the medium and for Blake’s 7 stories. Let’s take a closer look!
The watch through of the Gundam Blu-rays goes part the half way mark as we see Amuro and the White Base crew encounter more Zeon forces and the return of Char Aznable! This batch also ends with the White Base back in space, setting up the last big push of the One Year War. Let’s take a closer look…
