Battlestar Galactica – Season 2 Episodes 1 – 10 Review

BSG S2 P1

My reviews of the rebooted Battlestar Galactica continue, thanks to the currently airing shows taking a break for most of December and January. The first half of Season 2 is a strong set of episodes, the first bunch of episodes being split between three locations. It also sees the debut of the Battlestar Pegasus, which given this second watch through is also the first time I’m watching after having seen the original series, it was fun to see the differences, and slight similarities, it carries over with that storyline. Let’s have a look!

Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam – Episodes 1 – 13 Review

Zeta P1

My sort-of-in-order watch through of Universal Century era Gundam continues, sadly skipping the OVAs (as I may as well wait for a possible blu-ray release…) and heading straight for Zeta Gundam. I haven’t watched the show in nearly 10 years, but I still haven’t forgot never really liking Kamille, and it seems for good reason! Let’s take a look at the opening chunk of 13 episodes, shall we?

Inhumans – Overall Series Review

Inhumans

Oh dear. Well, I guess I’ll just call this the “Overall Series Review”, because let’s face it, there won’t be a Season 2! Yeah… So, Inhumans is a new part of the MCU that focuses on the mostly super-powered Inhumans that live in a secret city on the moon, and yet somehow manages to be extremely boring, like that time that person made a martial artist with special powers boring. What’s that? It was created by the same person who made Iron Fist? Ah! I see. Maybe don’t hire him again, Marvel? Sounds good. Let’s take a look anyway!

Arrow – Season 6 Episodes 1 – 9 Review

Arrow S6 P1

Arrow Season 6 picks up … a few months after the big cliffhanger ending, and wastes no time confirming that very little happened. Still, it does at least settle back into the Season 5 groove of group of group of vigilantes vs. large groups of thugs, which worked in refreshing the show last year, and sets up the rest of the season really well, so I can forgive the non-follow up… A bit. Let’s take a look!

Blake’s 7 – 40th Anniversary Audio Special: The Way Ahead Review

B7 The Way Ahead

It’s Blake’s 7’s 40th Anniversary (or at least it was, yesterday) and to celebrate Big Finish released a special two-hour audio drama with as many of the surviving cast as they could get their hands on, and damn fun it is too! A fun though possibly fan-divisive framing story sets the tone for two stories featuring a new character called Avalon, set during the early days and in Series 3 respectively. So let’s take a look at “The Way Ahead”!

Legends of Tomorrow – Season 3 Episodes 1 – 9 Review

LoT S3 P1

After a lacklustre first season, Legends of Tomorrow managed to bounce back in a big way with Season number 2, and it looks like they’re continuing that momentum based on the first nine episodes of this season! The show once again captures a sense of fun and nails the comedy while also dipping into good sci-fi concepts and even the odd bit of drama as well. Let’s take a look!

My Top 10 TV Series/Seasons of 2017

Top 10 TV

After a less traditional Top 10 with the Top 10 Doctor Who stories (and a more traditional one with my Top 10 Games of 2017 list on the game review blog), I… surrendered and did a more regular Top 10 of 2017 (as in anything that aired between January and December, it didn’t have to have started airing this year).  Also of note is that I’m NOT doing a top 10 Films of 2017 because I simply haven’t seen that many. In fact in terms of released in 2017 I don’t know if I’d be able to make a Top 5 let alone 10… and most of those would just be MCU films…   So without further triple dots, let’s have a look at my personal Top 10 TV series / seasons of 2017!

My Top 10 Games of 2017

Top 10 Games

What’s this?! Me actually putting an article on the Game Reviews blog?! Crazy, I know! Seriously, I wish I had more time for this side of my life, but hey-ho. That doesn’t mean I can’t write a Top 10 though! … and what a weird Top 10 it is, due to being unemployed for a good portion of the middle of the year, I missed out on some key games like Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Horizon: Zero Dawn, and while I hope to play both during the middle-of-the-year lull next year, it’s too late for this list… So let’s have a look at what’s left!

Doctor Who: The Wreck of the World Review

DW Wreck of the World

Here we are, the last Doctor Who review of 2017… and it’s a cracker! The Wreck of the World is not only the best Early Adventures I’ve heard, but might be the best 2nd Doctor audio story in general. Good twisty plot, full of great characters and the lead trio have plenty of great dialogue and moments between them. What a great way to end the year!
