Rival Turf is probably most fondly remembered by people for the US cover art featuring teenage thugs trying to look cool and tough (and failing!), but for us here in the PAL territories it was just another scrolling beat ‘em up with a rather bland cover. That all being said, my brother had this and we played it a lot, and me and my friends had great fun playing it in the past, though a lot of that was due to the renaming characters cheat… How does it hold up in 2020, especially in the middle of a long marathon of similar games?! Doctor Who: Wormwood Review

Wormwood is technically the first “big finale” story for the Eighth Doctor’s comics run as well as acting as the end to the Threshold storyline. Kicking off with the “Ninth Doctor” played by Nicholas Briggs (well, using his image, I should say) and only getting more crazy, let’s see how this story reaches its conclusion, shall we?

ECW Hardcore Revolution (PS1) Review

ECW’s first game should’ve been a reason to celebrate, but instead it was a blatant cash-grab, both ECW and Acclaim were hurting financially and so clearly wanted this out of the door as fast as possible, and it shows. It’s pretty much just WWF Attitude with ECW characters and logos, plus a Barbed Wire Match. It was still fun for a short burst because I was actually playing as ECW wrestlers, which was weird after all that time, but it soon became rather obvious what was going on. How is it now, in hindsight? Let’s find out!

Detective Pikachu Review

As mentioned in my review of Pokémon Blue, I haven’t played a lot of Pokémon games, but being a big Nintendo fan (and especially a Smash fan!) I have more than enough familiarity with the series to review this film as a game-less “Bonus” review in the marathon. So what’s Detective Pikachu like? Is it really the first game adaptation that’s actually really good? Could I finally go above a 3/5 in this long marathon?! Let’s find out!

Doctor Who: Time War Series 4 – Dreadshade & Restoration of the Daleks Review

Much to my relief we return to the second half of the fourth Time War box set to find it doesn’t let the side down after a fantastic first half. While neither Dreadshade or Restoration of the Daleks are as great and well thought out as Palindrome, they do up the war stakes and deliver some great moments, including a hell of an unexpected final scene! Two Crude Dudes (Mega Drive) Review

It feels really odd reviewing this game so deep into this marathon because it feels very old fashioned compared to most of the games I’ve previously looked at. Much like fellow “dude titled” Data East game Bad Dudes vs. DragonNinja, this game is entirely side-on with no moving up or down the screen and a lot of enemies die in a single hit. Does the ability to pick up a car and throw it overcome this though?! Let’s find out!

Mobile Suit Gundam Wing – Episodes 1 – 13 Review

We finally take our first dip into the varied waters that is “Alternate Universe Gundam”, or in other words, shows that aren’t part of the Universal Century timeline. While Mobile Fighter G Gundam came out first, it’s fitting that we’re starting with Wing because it’s most people’s first exposure to Gundam as a whole, including myself. This is my third time watching it, but first time watching it uncensored (as I watched on TV, then on the original DVD releases previously) but I’m also still watching it dubbed for maximum nostalgia. So how does the series hold up in light of all the other Gundam shows and films I’ve watched since? Let’s find out!
