The Fifth Doctor lost stories rocket on then, as we get a very of-era story set on an alien world that has coincidentally copied Tudor London for their city, which would’ve been handy at the time for existing sets and costumes! Involving an old friend of Tegans and some body snatching, it’s got a lot going on, but is it good, or should it have stayed on the cutting room floor? … Wait, cutting room floor doesn’t make any sense, it was just never commissioned, erm… never mind.

It’s time to end the After Colony era with “Endless Waltz” the OVA/film that puts a neat little bow on the Gundam Wing series. Or does it?! That’s actually a hard question to answer as it does add some missing backstory to some key characters, but it also feels very rushed. I guess the only thing to do is have a closer look!

We now begin a fairly long run of licensed games, mostly made by Konami (like this) and CAPCOM. Funnily enough, despite being a fan of the Hero Turtles, as I sadly knew them as back in the day, I didn’t really play this often, mostly because my brother had the SNES and I had the Mega Drive as I’ve mentioned previously, and he never had the game. I played it a few times around a couple of different friend’s houses though and had a great time. What’s it like now? Well, let’s find out!

The first half of Shadow of the Daleks is here! … What is it? It’s… well, it’s something that has come into being thanks to the Pandemic. It’s a series of eight half hour stories where the Fifth Doctor has accidentally found himself feeling the effects of the Time War his future selves are fighting, and as a result is meeting the same few faces in very different locations. Basically, two Main Range audio slots had to be removed and so they came up with a way to make new ones by re-using the same few actors/actresses who have good enough at-home recording set-ups. Does it work though? Hmmm… it’s a mixed bag…

Although it’s only been a couple of months since I reviewed the first season, here we are with Season 2! The Boys are … no, I’m not going to say “back in town”, far too obvious… Erm, let’s just stick with “are back”. Once again underneath the dark humour, the at-times-unrelenting gore and the explicit sex scenes is a series that was genuinely entertaining and well written. Let’s take a look!

It’s time to begin the Eighth Doctor Audio Drama strand of Time Lord Victorious with “He Kills Me, He Kills Me Not”. Obviously on the fringes of the core story seen in last week’s book, this is more about The Doctor realising something is very wrong with time and meeting Brian the Ood Assassin for the first time. The rest of the story is fun, but full of bad accents… Does it hurt it overall? Let’s find out!

With Gundam Wing it’s odd because when looked at as a whole a few issues really get highlighted, especially an inescapable feeling of it being written on the fly. After a three week stay with CAPCOM-like-but-not-quite Rushing Beat games it’s time to return to a good old fashioned CAPCOM scrolling beat ‘em up, one featured on the Beat ‘em Up Bundle no less (which means these screens were taken many months ago at this point!) Warriors of Fate is a unique one in that it’s not only based on a manga that was based on the book that was based on Three Kingdoms era of China, but also the English language version changes all the names and locations, rendering that interesting titbit pointless. Oh well! It’s also a beat ‘em up me and my friend first played via the recently released collection, so no “Thoughts Then” paragraph here! Let’s take a look! Exclamation marks!!

What is it with Netflix and forcing me to watch CG shows? Admittedly using the Transformers franchise at least makes sense as it, currently, lacks any human characters, and seeing giant robots in CG is a lot easier to take, but still! If I’m honest I had no intention of watching a new Transformers cartoon, but then I heard more about it, that it uses designs closer to the classic 80s cartoon I loved growing up and has references to, and features, death and “killing”, making it closer in tone to the Transformers animated movie than the squeaky clean TV show, I was interested, and it was only six 20-ish minute episodes, so… Why not? Was I disappointed or did it live up to these expectations? Let’s find out!

The next stop in the Time Lord Victorious story arc is a pair of “Short Trips”, basically 40 minute pieces of prose read in audiobook style by one actor/actress, and in this case these two trips feature Masters who have never really appeared in Big Finish audio stories (for obvious reasons, though less so now there are so many recasts!)
